I when to my local HIFI shop where I bought my 598/568.2 from they are no longer a full M dearler but can to upgrades and repaire.

So I asked them if they could order me up a MSR+, they thought this should be no problem, but after talking to the M rep they where told that the MSR+ is calssed as a new product and therefore cant order one.

So I cant get a MSR+ local even though I'm an excisting M costomer having spent nearly 8K with M only 18 month beforehand and was thinking of going for iether some G series product or the whole way to an 800.

I must say I'm not very impressed with this attatuide form M dont feel very valued as a costomer and dont feel like spending any more money with them.

Do you feel that M's costomer sevices have gone down hill or do you think they are helpfull towards there costomer base.

BTW I'm in the uk.

It sounds to me like you are just caught between a dealer and M. Why not call M directly and ask them what to do? I am sure they would want to sell you more M gear.

Best regards,

Try your nearest full dealer! Even if it's a few miles away, it's not as if it's a a journey you have to make every day.

Skooby, you're going to be better off with a full dealer anyway if you move into new products (even if it is just a remote today). That's probably the line that M have.

Why is your local dealer not full anyway ?

AS far as I know my local dealer would not stock the full range of digital speakers to fullfill the requirement of being a full dealer and therefore can not sell any more M product but just service upgrades and repaires, which means just sending stuff back to M.

My nect 'local' dearler is about 100 miles away so not so local. For the MSR+ I supose I could just order up by phon e and have it the delivered to me by then for a charge.

But for demo purposes it is infact very restrictive as it would mean several journeies they would have to see my partX suff, more difficult for home demoes etc.

So a real pain and would make me think twice about buying more M stuff would try stuff that I could get localy first.

I thought in these times every item sold is one sold..

We have a bit of the same situation here in Holland as well. The Dutch distributor likes to see a dealer fully fitted with a whole Meridian setup. My dealer has only/will have shortly the pre-amp, DVD player and analogue aend-amp.
I do not see him put in a complete set of DSP speakers, simply not a market yet for him.

Meridian is not very well know in Holland, what people know are mostly the CD players. The fully digital HT systems hardly anyone knows.

I have seen this with other brands as well, i have for example KEF reference speakers. There are only a few dealers (6 or 7) in the whole country who sell them. But if you want a demo, you end up at the distributor, as no one has a decent HT setup, only stereo setups.
I do see a point in that in a country the size of Holland, as you cannot expect every dealer to put 100K of equipment in his demo room from one brand.

But who am i to question the marketing skills of people already years in the bussiness.

Call the dealer and see if they will order and ship to you. If not, call JS Audio.
