I have a large listening room and recently redid the room with what I thought was substantial treatment. Roof, walls, floor etc.
At the end I have 33 filters in Stereo (L+R) and some of them cut 13dB and 11dB. The resultant sound does not sound good to me if I leave at auto (371ms). Changing to 450ms cuts the numbers of filters and depth of attenuation, but still not a happy situation.
I remember from before my room treatment that the sound was "better".
Would anyone be able to look at my MSL and let me know what I should be doing? This is where Rob's masterclass would have been useful!
Thanks
Shankar

Make some pictures and drawings and desciption what and wher you placed your room treatment, and post that in the gallery. So we have a basic info to start discussions.
We would need to know what treatment you added and why? Inappropriate treatment can damage sound, the room needs what it needs only. Good luck, I am sure it will sound great again soon. Chris
No 18 in the Hall of fame I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best: GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone
Try add bass to the MRC result and see where it goes.
I suggest you add around +2 or +3 dB bass lift (speaker tone controls) once you have done MRC correction. Flattish correction curves in the bass can sound very bass light, as it negates room gain which would have a rising curve in the low bass at listening position.
Roon/Tidal, SBT, Trinnov ST2 , Twin Devialet D premiers, Vivid Audio Giya G1 Spirits, dedicated and treated room. Meridian gear: 568.2mm and DSP5000's acting as TV speakers.
You also may need to get used to the "new" " better" sound you have
I'd be happy to look at the config file. Like everyone else, I'd want to know the room dimensions, speaker and listening positions and what you added for treatment. A copy of the old config file would be helpful for comparison.
My room is approximately 25 feet square with some alcoves etc. The roof is covered with wedge Acoustic Foam and three walls - behind the speakers and two sides are panelled with Acoustic Absorbent panels from a height of 2' from the floor pretty much to the ceiling. Below 2' there are bookcases and display units of wood acting as diffusors. The entire wall facing the speakers is one big bookcase acting as a diffusor.
Not much can be done to alter any of this any more as I just went through a very painful renewal of the room.
I did try to upload a DOC file containing room layout etc. but Gallery only accepts images. I need to figure out how to convert DOC file into an image but until then the description above is available.
Many thanks.

Shankar 25 sq ft is small... you sure it's that size. None of your treatment seem to be bass traps or work in the bass tho.

It is possible to over damp a room, especially mid-high frequencies, which can produce a very 'dry' uninvolving sound (this is the reason some GIK traps, for example, can be range limited to work on the bass without killing the ambience in the room).
It may be that MRC is attempting to match the shortened decay times for the mid/highs (I believe that's what it's designed to do - although it only corrects in the bass, it measures higher than this in an attempt to get everything sounding even). My first instinct was to say remove some of the treatments and see if it improves, but then read you can't do that... Not sure what to suggest - pretty sure tweaking MRC will not bring life back into mids/highs if that is where the problem lies...
