I got this from the manual on Duncs site: The DVD player provides three standard settings, called Types, which configure the 596 into the most commonly needed configurations. Choosing one of the three Types overrides any other configuration you may have performed, and so can be used to reset the configuration of the unit. The types are summarised in the following table: To restore the standard settings; Switch the 596 to standby. Hold down Off (front panel). After a short delay the display will show: Press left or right on the front panel to change the Type number. For example, if you select Type 1 the display shows: Wait until the display shows: The display then shows: Press Off to switch back to standby. Switch on again to use the 596 with the standard setting you have selected. 596 manual try page 52. Chris

Make sure you follow instructions to the letter. There is no shortcut. You can alter settings within a type. Have a look through the player main menu. Perhaps some clues there. Good luck, Chris

On 568 there was a setting for Meridian DVD player. Is there equivalent for 565 or wasn't there a special 565 firmware release when used with Meridian DVD player - 6.2a?
However if MSR was working and now MSR+ isn't, unless MSR+ is broken, then assume that problem is due to slightly different assignments on MSR+ that 565 or 596 isn't handling.

Hi,
As before thanks for the support managed to access menus now not sure how. I've retyped the 596 and it cured problem. What I don't understand is why it worked with old MSR and not MSR+.
Thanks Sean

Well done Sean, you got there, your the site expert now. Haha Yes firmware 6.2a on the 565 allows for Meridian DVD compatibility. Cheers Chris
