Trifield is nice - it really brings tightness to a center fill- direct spreads the soundstage out - bass is better in Trifield, but direct seems to place instruments better

I prefer listening with all my speakers than with 2 speakers, but even with 3 equals fronts it takes time to find the best sound. No I never want to go back.
When you listen 2 speakers you will not missing something until you will hear a good Multichannel setup, but that costs serious money (speakers and processor) and space.

I'm extremely glad to have a VC, as the majority of my listening is music - is in Trifield. But I'm unusual in being able to fit it in domestically without issues. VC?

I have a movie setup with three identical front speakers (and bipolar rears). And real multi-channel is indeed wonderful: after I had set it up and played a wonderful SACD 5.1 Mozart Requiem, I turned on a well-regarded stereo Mahler piece and went out in the kitchen to get some wine, and my wife came and said "your system isn't working." That's the interpretation of stereo after having heard surround: "broken".
That said, I have given up on multi. There is so little content that I care for (I do mostly jazz), and I don't like Trifield. Sure it's more expansive, but I lose the precision of stereo/direct.

I have no problem finding MCH I want although there is much more I do want. But it doesn't float your boat, there's no point.

I like the freedom that Trifield offers. I don't have to find the sweet spot and remain glued to it and for me it sounds just as good as Stereo. That said, I'm switching between Stereo and Trifield at the moment but only because my centre is picking up colouration from the wooden TV unit its sat in. I'm going to try reviewing my MRC settings, but in the end I may end up changing the TV unit.

I have phantom inputs setup (i.e. MS200_S and MS200_T), so I have Stereo or Trifield at the touch of a button on my G68.
It works great, allows me to pick the format that fits my current listening mode.

Trifield is nice - it really brings tightness to a center fill- direct spreads the soundstage out - bass is better in trifield, but direct seems to place instruments better You have to play either with your center setup or with a help of room acoustics as you activate the room more with 3/5/7 speakers as with 2 speakers. Decrease the level of the center first in 1,0 steps and play with every level with the center depth.Later on go to 0,5dB steps. When your room acoustics is acceptable you will get a better soundfield/stage as with direct/stereo.
