I have a 568.mm, it recently started producing no sound, then OK but couldn't change sound parameters (bass treble) arrows don't work but most other comms available.

Then the sound is missing again, calibration produces left master test in centre no calibration on right then it throws a wobbler again provides basic flat sound (good) but only DSP modes can be accessed nothing else works.

Did something similar for few minutes before but now redundant.

I'm in N Ireland-no Meridian repair. Any help or advise would be appreciated.

Jim

Hi

I'm thinking you're talking about a 568.2mm processor?

Symptoms could suggest the software is corrupted in someway. Sometimes I get odd things happening if we have very short glitches in our mains power and simply recycling the power switches can clear it. Otherwise a reset to a factory setting and then reinstall your config file might help? Do you have the manual? If not look up the page to "Duncan's Meridian Info" you'll find it there.

Good luck.

Richard

Looks for "types". These are basic settings to use to build your own personal configuration from.
You should have your original set up stored on a PC somwhere.
Or even better, have this stored in your 568 as a "type".

If you have this, you can re set to "Type 1" as an example, and then re type to your original saved "type". (Whatever you called it)
Hope that makes sense.
RTFM a lot smile Chris .

I've Tried everything! It keeps changing sound in all speakers. Front working now but can't adust sound bass treble.

No left test signal in centre channel, sound now in all front three but no test signal in centre and sometimes centre test signal in all three front speakers?

Left light (red master) reading PCM 96K ALL other speakers showing amber light.

It's gone nuts, must be corrupt.

Anyone recommend good repair agent.
Thanks in advance
Jim

568.2 manual

Page 68-69 of the manual (75 and 76 /133 in the PDF).

Typing to factory settings effectively resets the unit. Meridian Service advise this is as good as re-flashing the units firmware.

One you've "typed" the unit you may have to re-install your config file to get beyong the factory defaults for inputs etc. See the next few pages of the namual for the default settings.

Good service guys are few and far between I'm afraid. Any of the dealers who post regularly on this forum will help you liaise with Meridian's own service department. Your best option IMO.

There is an independant guy on the forum if you look down in the restaurant. He's called ChrisJC, who is ex-Meridian, if you can get in contact with him; he seems to have gone quiet recently.

I remember talking to Chris on many occasions. Lovely guy.
does anyone have a contact for him.

I have tried all the resets.

I have DSP5500 (three) and mono REL sub.

I have reset to 5.1.DDD which should work fine. Something more serious going on. I had a lot of dust recently?

Thanks for all suggestions and help
Jim

Hi Jim,

You can find details of HHkers that offer a service to other HHkers over in the Hitchhikers - Service, Repair, Custom Leads & Interfaces.

This is Chris' introduction post Repair, service and upgrade of Meridian legacy products forum do try him, however, as others have said Chris seems to be AWOL presently.
If you don't hear from him, then I'd consider speaking to either AudioImages - Rick
or St. Edd at Meridian West London.

Regards,
Carl
