Maybe not. There is one on Audiogon right now with current high bid of $505 USD and a reserve of $1188 USD. That is in the ball park after conversion to GBP.

I understand. But at least it provides a little perspective on where the used market is on a V1 MC200. The auction ended at $505 USD, reserve not met. Who knows what the seller is willing to take.
Your proposed buy price is reasonable in my opinion.

Stereo exchange was a great M dealer in NYC, but no longer. IMHO the MC200 makes a great budget entry into Sooloos and now with the NAS add-on, growth is accommodated.
$500 was too low, the published minimum was $1180.
