Yes, I was planning to centrally locate the MS200's in the rack with the PPS and the amps, which then feed non-Meridian speakers around the house.

I don't want to hijack the thread, so would appreciate anyone's thoughts and ideas in this topic.

I'm trying to charge my new iPad Mini Retina from the USB out of my PPS, but it's not showing as charging.

The PPS ought to be powerful enough (5W at up to 1A) shouldn't it? It says the iPad Mini can be powered by USB to computer system.

Have you tried charging it from a PC to prove it works?

Was it supplied with a charger, if so what ampage is it?

Doesn't the iPad need 2A?

As I understand it, the problem is that Apple have a proprietary signalling method on their chargers which tells the device under charge it is connected to a high power (>500mA) charger - without the signalling it doesn't matter how much the charger will actually provide, the iPad will ignore its capabilities.

You may be right, Ian.

When I plug the iPad directly into my iMac it shows the current required as 500mA with a 500mA overhead. When I plug it into a powered hub it shows not charging.

I wonder if leaving it plugged into the PPS overnight will trickle charge it? The PPS goes to 1A according to the spec.
