Should start with the standby light, without that they aren't powered.

Are the power cables/mains socket good? Just to rule out. Odd.

I looked up the manual on Duncan's site. No power switch, it requires a signal via SpeakerLink to bring out of standby.
The light should be dim when in standby.

Hi,

If no LED I would suggest a PSU issue with the speakers and should go back to the dealer to be looked at.

The fact the incorrect fuses were in place would worry me.

Regards
Edd

Power cables are new. The 3300 is plugged into the same mains socket and it works.

Yes well, they were re-wired to transform from 220v to 110. The guy also did the 3300 and no problems there. I hope to avoid sending them to the dealer and am waiting for my dealer's suggestion. I thought that having the fuses for 220v while on 110v would just mean they blow more quickly so I'm hoping that this would have protected the internals of the speakers.

You would look at it as a noble right of passage, we have all done daft things if we were honest, your turn soon, just not this time lol
I hope you get it sorted soon. Chris smile

Well. A happy ending.

I took the first speaker apart. I had to pull apart the processor and amp boards which are connected with two sets so about 20 pins. My dealer walked me through testing with a multimeter if the soldered connections where the wires had to be reconfigured for 110 were good and no problem.

Then, after reconnecting the two boards, my dealer walked me through testing the voltages with power to the board. Everything was fine again! So that was sort of confusing.

I reassembled the unit and it worked. I took apart the second speaker and realized what the problem had been with the first speaker. My guy had converted from 220 to 110 correctly but when he put the two boards back together on both speakers he missed connecting one set of pins. They had slid off to the side of the black female receptacle where the pins should have slipped in.

So now all is joy! What a relief!

That's excellent news, and top marks to your dealer for talking you though the process.

Carl
