As a soon to be owner of an MC200 I'm keen to get the process of populating my new toy correctly. I'm a long time user of a SBT and have ripped all my music with dBpa and groomed the metadata into a format I'm happy with togethor with finding suitable high-quality art etc.
I'm assuming I'll have to use Control:PC for the import but am concerned that it will lose all my existing hard work since consensus appears to be that 'prefer local metadata' doesn't work as advertised.
Obviously for future rips I'll use the new dBpa plugin but my current concern is how to get all my existing rips installed without destroying all my hard work.
Advice please

Graham,
What other kit do you have? Do you have a Control unit?
Generally I found that Control:PC kept the artist names intact (I do all mine Surname, First name, although I don't believe that Lady is Ms Gaga's given name...).
I'm afraid that you're just going to have to suck it and see. Be very careful with batch importing as double albums are a big problem with imports, I find.
Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.
Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.

I have gone from SBT to MC200, and its not too painful. It will keep most of the metadata you have. You just have to double check before you actually import to make sure that something hasn't changed. I imported each album one at a time in the end. I started by trying to import the whole library at the same time and regretted it as some errors occurred, and I had to go through everything to see what was incorrect. Most of my albums imported without a hitch. It's the compilations which sometimes threw it a bit.

Thanks, Edd
