I turned on my G68 today to play a CD thru the G91. Quickly heard a hiss through the speakers that turned to a 747 landing in my loft in about 10 seconds. Turned off and then back on and tried playing cable box input with the same result. Repeated a few times over the night with same results. [censored].
The G68 passes through a BAT tube pre-amp into ATC active front and rears (not sure if the rears also had hiss). I played turntable through the BAT pre without a problem. Hence, the problem seems to be in the G68. Unless the input on the BAT that the G68 passess through has a problem, but seems unlikely.
I have already replaced the power supply in G91 once, so first concern in power supply in the G68 (the only good Meridian power supply is no power supply).
Thoughts anyone.

... (the only good Meridian power supply is no power supply). Just to add balance to this view. Actually I have it on good authority that the failure rate of M Switch Mode PSUs is very low, esp. over the last 3 or 4 years or so. However, of course the 1000s of people with units that are fine typically don't post about it. Regards, Carl PS The PSU in my 800D failed once; M fixed it FOC under warranty, the replacement (a slightly different design IIRC) has been fine ever since.

Hi,
Sorry to hear you have a problem. If the G68, apart from this noise, is functioning correctly, then it suggests it more likely a digital card problem than a PSU.
If your confident, you could take the lid off and measure the voltages just in case, but I suspect it will need to go to Meridian or a 3rd party Meridian specialist like Marc.
Regards, Carl

Thank you for the responses. No offense meant for Meridian power supply just of bit of gallows humor. I will PM Marc.
Does anyone know if Meridian still has the flat rate repair charge?
