Hi,
What happens when you press the play button on the MSR when in the type setup mode, this should toggle an older firmware speaker from Master to Slave.

Yes I have to eat some serious humble pie here and I feel like an idiot.
Firstly my apologies to Robert who gave me the best advice of all that was to read the instructions and not depend on memory.
Then to all the others who offered assistance and to Carl who forced me to think clearly.
Also to Edd who hit the nail on the head.
I had forgotten about pressing the play key to switch from Master to Slave. I scrolled through to L S that I took to be Left Slave when of course it was Left Surround.
Hopefully someone will learn from my stupidity.
All fine now.

Congrats. I own a pair of 5K's and occasionally have to reprogram them but it is so worth it! No doubt the next major revision will include Wifi configuration through web-browser or iPad ...
