In the Sunday Times Culture section this weekend was this picture featuring a DSP7200 in the background. This film is from a story by Cormac McCarthy who also wrote "no Country for Old Men" and a story called "Blood Meridian". More than five years ago, Scott was all set to adapt McCarthy�s Blood Meridian, an epic 1985 western with horror and dense writing at each page-turn. It has scalping, babies hanging from trees and a moral ambiguity Hollywood seems to have given up on of late. �Maybe it should be left as a novel,� admitted a resigned Scott when his project folded. �If you�re going to do Blood Meridian, you�ve got to go the whole nine yards into the bloodbath, and there�s no answer to the bloodbath. I can't decide if this is good product placement or not.

Shucks. I saw that film with the kids but missed the speakers. I'm sure we'll end up with the DVD at some point too and will make a point of looking out for them.

Not to go too far off topic, but "Blood Meridian" is one of the great novels of the 20th century (see wiki). It's McCarthy would should be wondering if the coincidental naming of Meridian electronics is a worthy association, and not vice versa.
