Hi
I recently purchased an 861 and am finding it frustrating in many ways although hopefully these should be resolved shortly.
The internal relays click every time Sky changes in any way which includes adverts (after each advert the relays click) and channels changing. This is really frustrating and I am just interested to know of this is normal in which case I will have to ignore.
Thanks
861, G98, 568.2, DSP5K, SVS PC 13 Ultra, Pioneer KRP600, LG 77CX, BDI 3379.

Normal in an analogue setup. Relays used to mute circuits IIRC.
You don't usually get any clicking in a DSPS setup.

I have relay clicks in the 818 (and did in my 808.2i) in a DSP setup, I assumed it was normal, but maybe I have a setting wrong?

Because the 818 carries analogue capability as standard I think. I had a demo 818v2 in my DSP setup and it clicked too.

I think the relays click when the file type being played changes, CD/Hi Res (just to remind you life's not perfect).

Yeah it doesn't bother me at all, just commenting on the DSP setup above.

I was playing an infrequent DVD audiobook through the Oppo - 818 and the clicking was non stop. I had to turn the M sound off and just play the audio through a low fi TV.

Mine's never clicked during playback, only when switching sources/resolutions. Maybe a fault there...
Why is it antiquated, or annoying to have a click when switching inputs, etc?

I get relay clicks too, so it is normal. My kit is in a cabinet, so not annoying. It never happens in critical listening.

My 818 clicks when the resolution changes Antiquated design and VERY annoying. You do seem to have a love/hate relationship with your M kit, don't you?! Cheers George
