I just found out Sooloos has a limit on the amount of tracks you can put in an album.

Anyone care to guess what the limit is?

More than 74, for sure.

99 perhaps?

The track limit for "red book" CDs is 99, the Sooloos track limit is way more than 99.

It's a pretty irrelevant limit, then.

Not if you don't like the way Sooloos deals with multi CD albums and you decide to "bounce" these multi disc sets into a single album.

Pretty sure that I once imported a 500 Track "Album" into Sooloos.

Later on I decided to break it into 5 by 100 Track Albums, which still remain on my system.

So I'd say the Album Track Limit must be above 500 Tracks.

I'm coming up with a track limit of 256.

You can have tracks 0-255 for 256 tracks. If you try to change to track numbers higher than 255 and save it, it will renumber the tracks. Track 256 changes to track 0, track 257 changes to track 1 and so on. This is using my Control:10 to edit the track numbers before exporting the albums to bounce them into a single album.

It's possible loading a different way (like Ronnie did) could allow for more than 256 tracks in an album, I haven't tried that yet.

I found that splitting made life much easier to then navigate. Easier to do with long running radio shows like ISIHAC where I could split easily by decade.

I just tried loading several different ways and found if loading an album over 255 tracks the Sooloos will delete track 255 and it will renumber all tracks over 255 so you end up with double tracks (2 track 1, 2 track 2...). This really screws up the track order!

Unless there is a trick I'm missing, the Sooloos can have an album over 254 tracks but it will renumber and mess up the track order, so I put the maximum usable track limit at 254.
