Hello everyone! Just letting everyone know that I am selling my pair of DSP5500 (96/24, non-smiley), one 518 and some other Meridian items, such as at least one silver MSR. They are all 220 volt. The speakers were bought from a fellow hitchhiker (Mr Meridian) in 2005. The past few years have been such that I have not used the equipment since 2008 and the speakers are actually already packages inside their original boxes. Before that they were checked by the local Meridian importer. We agreed that they are in perfect order but have some visible dents. I have lots of photos that I happily share with anyone interested of the speakers and will of course snap a few shots of the 518 and remote(s), too. I am happy to ship the items to at least Europe. I will be moving in a week or so, so the goal is to have at least the speakers shipped by then, in other words quick deals are preferred. I will happily answer to any replies or private messages already now, so please let me know if you are interested! -Tatu

Hello everyone! I agree with the administrators of the site that it is best to update this thread, not create another one. In other words, once I have all the info gathered of the DSP5500's, the 518 and the remotes etc., I will post it here, on this thread. I have sent a private message to the already interested hitchhikers, thank you for the messages! -T

Hello everyone! Due to some health issues the sale of these items was paused for several months. Now I'm back online, and hereby restart the sale. The info on the first post on this thread still applies, i.e. I am happy to share photos with anyone interested, via for example SkyDrive or DropBox. The already packed monsters (the pair of DSP5500s) do take up quite much living space here, so I would not mind finding a buyer quickly. I am open for offers and guarantee that any reasonable one will be quickly and seriously considered and answered. I have not been able to keep up with Meridian lately so your offer is as good or better starting point for discussions as an asking price by me, I think. ;D Because it's been a while since I have been active here, maybe you might want to ask for example George ("Mr Meridian") or Ronnie ("RonnieBr") for some references, I have done business here with them. Please let me know if you are interested! -Yoda

I changed my location in my signature from Helsinki to Espoo (Finland), this also applies to the items, i.e. they are now in Espoo - anyone is welcome to have a look. The shipping costs remain the same and I can still ship these in 24 hours. I am willing to ship to at least Europe, U.S. and Asia are possible too but need some consideration. Those of you who were interested of these in June and July: I will try to reach you via PM or email now. -Tatu / Yoda

I now have reached most of the previously contacted fellow hitchhikers and have one offer.
Tomorrow (Monday) I will find out the shipping costs to UK (where the single offer came from). I will update that info here once I have it, together with a few selected pictures.
Anyone interested: please make an offer in the form of how much would you be willing to pay to get "the coffins" delivered in their original boxes to your address (street level).
The Meridian importer I got my original Meridian kit from recommended me two shipping companies and those I intend to use if their prices are reasonable.

I can vouch for Tatu (Yoda), he's an absolute Gentleman to do business with; the kit I bought from him a few years ago was exactly as described and it was shipped promptly. Buy with confidence.
Cheers

Thank you for the kind words, George. The 518 is now reserved to Brian, I'll check the transfer costs and post him some photos for visual approval. -Tatu

About the 518: I have now emailed Brian 36 photos of the 518. The processor is reserved for him but while waiting for his comments I will, of course, gladly send the pictures to other interested hitchikers, too. Just let me know your email address. The best quote so far for the transportation of the processor to UK is 42 EUR, which is around 34. -Tatu

Hello everyone,
I'm about to restart this thread again and will finally post the long overdue photos (or actually links to photos residing on a few shared SkyDrive folders).
QUESTION before doing so: should I also make the photos with serial numbers on them accessible for anyone, or post them only to the interested Hitchhikers upon request? It is my understanding that some scams have been tried using serial numbers.

Hello again everyone. I decided not to post any photos containing serial numbers openly online but have uploaded a few photos of the DSP5500s on the Gallery, here's the link: A few photos of the DSP5500s Please let me know if you are interested of these loudspeakers, as I will then email/SMS you the direct SkyDrive-links for more than 200 photos I have taken, including some containing the serial numbers. I think it's best for everyone to read the previous posts on this thread but just a quick recap here: The loudspeakers are the non-smiley versions, black ash, 24/96, and will be updated to the latest firmware version (v. 5.40) during the weekend. They were bought from George ("Mr.Meridian") in 2005. Reason for selling is that we unfortunately have space for such monsters (would love to keep them if we had, great even without a subwoofer). They are in excellent technical/working order but have some visible scratches and dents on them. I had these packed in their factory boxes for some time, while I was looking for the previously taken photos, which I never found. I am sort of glad I had to reopen the boxes to take new photos of the beasts, as the visual condition of the loudspeakers was much better than I remembered (the dents and scrathes were less annoying). But as these things are very personal, I will send to anyone interested links to more than 200 photos I have taken, in order to make sure you know what you are buying. I can ship at least to most of Europe, and have previously had pretty reasonable offers for the transportation costs. I will be looking for buying offers this weekend and the next week. Please be in touch if you have any questions or would like to make an offer (I will try to make this trade here as openly as possible, informing any interested parties once I receive an offer and so on). During the weekend, I'll also post photos of the 518 and try to check the version of it's firmware etc. I also have at least one MSR and some other Meridian-stuff here but more of that once I have everything summoned up... -Tatu
