I was wondering if anyone has had experience and success. The multi channel input capability on the G68 looks to be limited to 5.1 (i.e 3 multichannel inputs) is there a way to get 7.1 multichannel input capability? For example, if one was to run an OPPO93 with a Vannity93 card installed.

For discreet 7.1 input you need an 861v6 or later
5.1 matrixed to 7.1 is still pretty good though.
Meridian owner since 1992 Prime & PSU, Focal Elear headphones, Roon (ROCK 8Gi5 NUC), Explorer 1 & 2, F80. 200/203, various Sonos (via Roon).

How about you use the G68 for 5.1 and put the other two direct into DSPs? Control wouldn't be too good but you can make a number of settings (distance etc) in the Oppo. Hours of fun! (Or go Oppo 105, dual HDMI out, two processors and 11.1). Or get some more ears.

Thanks Fellas - Was hoping for some magical answer. Just seems wierd that all kinds of support/control for 7.1 output but no way to input a 7.1 signal stream.

Not many true 7.1 sources.
It will get better, but only slowly.
At least the HD621 is future-proofed in this respect.

Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.
Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.
