Hi All,
I searched the forum but didn't see info on this, but if I missed this issue already being covered in another thread, please point me to it. So, I've had an issue for quite some time where the output zone on my Control:10 disappears from the zone list - even on the Control:10 UI itself. A simple reboot always fixes it and it does seem to happen only after long periods of system inactivity. Anyone else run into this?
My concern now is that I am about to get up and running on an automaiton system in the new house. The plan is for the Control:10 to be located at the rack, with it's output feeding the distributed audio of the house (I'll be using some MS200s as well, but also want to make use of the Control:10 zone) and my concern is that this issue creates a bit of a troubleshooting hassle. I guess I could investigate whether the system has a reboot command over IP control, but obviously at core the issue shouldn't be happening at all. Maybe it's a hardware issue on my unit (Control:10 early version)?

Jeff,
I haven't noticed the disappearing zone issue on my Control:10, but I don't use its zone so am unlikely to have noticed if this happens or not.
However, there is a re-boot command that can be done from the 'Meridian Sooloos Configuration' programme that can be downloaded from Meridian's website (runs on PC only).

I have issues with my ID40 disappearing. It's always down to my router and DHCP

I have one zone that's flakier than the others, but I only connect it using Powerline. Strangely my Airport Extreme to Express zone link is far more stable.

My 818 went through a phase of dropping out of the system, only to reappear or not (needing rebooting). It stopped doing this. I can only concluded that it was network related.

Jeff,
I concur with several others that your drops are most likely router/DCHP issues.
I had occasional drops when I first went all digital 14 months ago where I had a wireless bridge between the C15 and the router. When I installed the 818 about 6 months ago I concurrently added a switch and took all M components to it via CAT6. I don't use the ports on the router except for connecting the switch to the web. After that, no more drops.

Hi all,
I'm moving to a new house soon with a new associated wired network so I'll see if the issue resolves itself at that point. I guess what was weird was that I could understand losing a zone for another component, but it just seemed odd to lose the zone attached to the same device I was using at the time. I would have figured that if there were enough network problems to prevent the local zone on the Control:10 form working properly, I would not be able to browse the library either. Regardless, I'll see how things go in the new network and hopefully that clears up the issue.

I had four zones earlier today, one on each of three laptops: A, B and C (and mutually visible) and the MC200 on all three laptops.
One laptop is now shut down (C). The other two (A and B) can only see two zones, that on one laptop (A) and the MC200. The other laptop (B) can see the MC200, the other laptop zone (A) but cannot see its own zone (B).
How can this be?
Everything is wireless except the wireless router to the MC200.

Have you restarted Control:PC on 'B'?
There are many reasons why it can be, but don't be fooled by the local zone. A 'local' zone is only local on Control:Web. With Control:PC/:Mac, it's still a remote zone, it just happens to be hosted by your Control:PC on 'B'. Sounds like the zone has been lost as far as core on MC200 is concerned and is not re-establishing for whatever reason, hence not showing as a zone on anything.
