If they only have in walls and no M80 replacement, then I am disappointed. They mentioned something in Spring or Summer of last year, and still nothing to buy. Oh well, maybe its time to look elsewhere. I would really hate to.

"They" didn't mention anything. Rick asked for input because they are working on something. As I recall that's as far as it went.

We all hoped for it for Christmas but I'd rather it was right and in their own time.

Then who originally mentioned Spring or Summer of 2012? That's what I had read.

This was how it started, best laid plans... If you're a Meridian user, you're used to waiting, can't see this changing. I suppose we have some pretty good audio to listen to whilst we're waiting though.

Oh well I'm not that surprised, as we haven't had any of those teaser emails or adverts. What I would like is a M80 style Sooloos end point. No rush though, with my first baby on the way I'm pretty much skint anyway.

I had expected news of the M80 replacement. It is such a pity that it was scrapped before the new model was ready. But the consultation exercise made a lot of sense so I hope something is happening.

And I also thought that there would be further additions to the M6 family.

But what I actually wanted was tweeter upgrades for the 8ks and 5k2s following the lead of the 7k2s. And new firmware to allow use of the linked new features of the 861v8. But I suppose it took a long time after the initial launch of the 7k2s and the birth of SpeakerLink for SpeakerLink versions of the 8ks and 5k2s to appear. And also the roll out of appodising.

I think we all forget just how small a company Meridian is, so with that in mind the latest upgrades and new DSP in wall speakers is very impressive.
Funds are low just now so waiting is no problem for me, it is essential.

Just thoughts, Chris smile

I briefly stopped by the Meridian suit at 2013 CES in Vegas. I had very limited time but I was told the following things. Are they true? No idea - make of it what you will.

1) I should not use the MS200 directly as a headphone amplifier. (even though it seems to work ok).

2) Re. the above I was told that in February-ish there will be a solution of some kind for headphone applications.

3) Mid year will be a bigger update for Sooloos. Track level meta data was specifically mentioned and discussed. They clearly understand the value so I assume it's just how long not if.

4) A droid version is being explored - whatever that means.

No sign of an F80 or any G series components.

Dr. Nick - thanks for the update.

1) Interesting ...

2) I have often found it was very odd that 861v6 and above had no analog outputs for headphones/'phone amps. Was going to maybe go that route in '13, guess I can wait a little while.

3) I'll let others debate on this ...

4) Probably refers to an Android tablet/smartphone port of the client.

Disappointed a 5.1 Sooloos solution did not emerge from CES '13 ... maybe later ... but excited about all the pre-announced updates!

#3 sounds like confirmation of the convergence/integration of Sooloos and HP connected by Meridian. I was hoping that the next Sooloos release was going to be v3 and coinciding with launch of HP Connected by Meridian in Feb but alas it looks more infrastructure/bug fix.

I was told the hold-up right now is (lack of) business/legal approval.
