It's very nice to see that the PL2x upgrade for 861 and 568.2 will be free (well, it'll cost me a few notes to upgrade my 861v2 to v4!) - as I predicted in the thread about Tag Mclaren a few weeks ago.
I've just checked the Tag website and they are still going to gouge you for 150ukp ($225) for it.
Thank you Meridian!!!
David.

Ok, I saw all the hype on PL2 a while back and was pretty disappointed with the results. For music i'd take Trifield any day over pl2.
For movies, well the movies I watch are DD or DTS.
For TV, I often don't even turn the audio system on. Unless it's a good HDTV Broadcast with decent DD.
Will PL2x be something better.
I sure would like to see circle surround and HDCD. I might even pay for it.

Personally I don't find much use for PLII or any form of PLII, but I guess I'll upgrade the software accordingly. I'm assuming this will be for 2.X versions as well... I won't be able to upgrade for a couple years to another version so it is critical that at least the formats are upgradable, such as any new DTS format or future audio format with Blu-Ray/AOD. It is not like they are processor hungry... it would just be a matter of compatability.

Sorry Chris, but according to the Meridian website, PLIIx is only going to be available for 861 v4.

If you have a 7-channel system, PLIIx is a a better way to enjoy your 5.1 films. It is better than either EX or Ultra2.
It also extends the 2-channel stuff to 7.1. Previous PLII sent the same info to sides and rears. Now you get different info sent to sides and rears.
