Hello guys

I have an interesting issue arise yesterday.

Playing the beginning of a Bond movie through my system, which now has a Panasonic Bluray as opposed to my G98, no problem to start with. I was playing it very loud, 95-99, on the display, showing off basically, when after about 3 minutes of this, the right hand front started popping, still playing the soundtrack.

I stopped and powered down.

When I came back later, all the movie DSP modes, playing DVD and Sky would not present the centre channel properly. It was so low you can hardly hear it. It plays standard Sky (TV Logic), not HD.

When I went into the Wizard on the G68, it had lost all the previous settings that I had changed on Wednesday night when I installed the Panasonic via Optical No3.

I have reset via front panel and switched off at the back and that seemed to correct it.

Tried again this morning and the problem appears to have returned.

Do I need to re-flash the G68 and if so, how do I do that?

Many thanks as always,

Cheers
Jon

Hi Lord

Perhaps the power supply has started to fail. Mine failed in December the original symptoms included popping sound in all speakers I also lost sound on all channels. A reset temporarily fixed it until the supply completely died.

Phil..

Hi Phil

Thanks for that. That is what I was thinking as the unit was new in 2005. However, it only effected the front right speaker and appears to work perfectly well on the non DSP settings. Also to change the Sky HD auto settings, which defaults to Cinema, Discrete etc to the choice of Trifield, TV Logic etc, requires a switch off and on, then the G68 allows me to manually change the settings.

Looks like a trip to Phase 3 on the cards.

Many thanks and a Very Happy New Year to you and yours.

Jon

Hi,

You might drop Gerry an email before you head off to Phase 3 as they've closed the shop in Southampton but haven't yet opened their new site in Botley.
