Hi,

I recently got a MS200, and have it linked to my non-SL DSP5200's via a powered optical to coaxial converter from Maplins.

If I were to replace this with a Reviver, would I notice any sonic benefits or would it just be a 'neater' solution?

Also, would a Reviver power the MS200?

Thanks
Brian

You'd get the benefit of comms from the 5k2s to the MS200 (this would mean you could hide the MS200 out of line of sight of your MSR and still be able to pause, advance the tracks etc), and also use your iPad to control the volume of the speakers.

Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.

Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.

I do have a SpeakerLink to comms adapter already so I do get volume control etc. I was just wondering if there might be a sonic benefit through not using the powered SPDIF converter?

Thanks

I would think the SpeakerLink to SPDIF would be better than optical conversion.

Brian,

For "power" of the 5200 you have a external wall power supply delivered with the MS200.
When you use the Reviver you have control and a electrical audio interface what basically sounds better from my experience.

If you like you can try my Reviver for free (only shipment on one side) to get your own experiences if you like.
PM for more details if you are interested.

Robert

Hi Robert

Many thanks for your kind offer. I am considering my options at the moment but will get back to you if I choose to take it up.

Cheers
Brian

I have just ordered a reviver for my MC200. The purpose of the Reviver would be control of my G02 and later a 861. The Reviver makes it possible to control the volume with the iPad application.

Schould be shipped out next monday.
