I don't know if this is a cheeky request but does anyone have the latest firmware (enabling 3D) as there is nowhere I can get hold of it as I don't have a dealer to deal with (all of my stuff is second-hand from private sellers!). frown

Would be very much appreciated. smile

Hi Neil,

The dealer does not have to be one that you have delt with before, but I admit it does help. I suggest you contact one of the HH friendly dealers that post on here.

Carl

Are here any other improvements with the new firmware? What's the number and how do you check your unit?
Thanks
Sam

Connect to the HD621 with the Config program and under the file menu, select 'identify' which will give you the firmware version and serial no.

The latest firmware only added 3D pass through capability.

Main system - Sources (Kodi-HTPC, Vero 4k, FireTV, Sat) into Trinnov Altitude 32 (8-16) (+Roon), Trinnov Amplitude 8 amp & Vivid Audio (Giya G3, V1.5) and REL Stentor III speakers. Others: F80 + Raspberry Pi and other Pi systems.

It was also more robust IMHO.

Hi Crion,

In what way was it more robust? I have never had any issues with mine and it is not running the latest 3D firmware.

I also would like to get the latest firmware for the HD621. It has been 18 months since I updated firmware on my HD621 and I'd like to get to the 1.1 release. Right now, I'm on release 1.08.

I am very disappointed to see Meridian remove these files from their web site. While I am pleased with the HD621 and 861 products, I don't understand why Meridian would want to make it more difficult to update their products. I also have several Oppo units, and that's the type of upgrade that Meridian should try to deliver (IMO).

If anyone has the latest HD621 firmware, I would appreciate getting the file. I am very comfortable with the Meridian tools, so the update will take 5 minutes.

Thank you in advance.

It's a long story but it's because they only want Meridian to "update" their products. I can't really understand why they are very concerned by the vanishingly small number of people who might want to do their own firmware (let alone having the knowledge to do so). However, pride in intellectual property is understandable.

Am I right that there have been no firmware updates for non-Sooloos products for 18+ months now ? Should everything be considered end-of-life ?

Sometimes it could "goof" in the 1.0x release and not switch 100% correct between RGB and YCBCR sources. That's when you see something come out with the wrong color. Also have not needed to cold restart the HD621 since 1.10. Sometimes in 1.0x I could need to do a cold restart when source did not display. It was VERY SELDOM, a couple of times a year. But this haven't been an issue with the new firmware.
