Hi,
I've just acquired (pre-owned) and restored (All electrolytics and OPAMPs) a pair of Meridian M2 active speakers.
The performance from the speakers is ourstanding.
My question is - when I switch off the speakers (disconnect from the mains 240VAC), after a delay of approx. 7 to 10 seconds, the speakers will emit a popping sound. I removed the speaker grills and observed the action of the drivers moving during the pop.
My concern is - is this a normal characteristic for a Meridian M2 during switch off, or is there another component that may need replacing or adjusting in order to overcome this. Furthermore, I'm worried, if this is not normal, then this reaction from the amplifier, during switch off, may cause some damage to the drivers, in the long term.
Any help or advice would be invaluable.

Yes this is normal, I believe it is noted in the manual which you will find on Duncans Meridian Info site link is top right of each page here

My M1500 sub gives one large pop when turned off. this is normal to me. Chris

Thank you all.
I'm releived this is a characteristic of the M2 and not a fault.
These are the best sounding speakers I have owned. Basically my system comprises a laptop (plays CDs and uncompressed losless music via HDD using VLC freeware) that feeds SPDIF signal to a 203 DAC, which feeds a 201 preamp, which feeds the M2.
The sound is outstanding - tight deep base, with controlled mids and highs.
