Hi,

I would like to change the electrolytic capacitors in my 201 MK3. Unfortunately, I'm not quite sure which screws to open. I don't wish to damage the unit in anyway. I managed to find instructions for removing the covers of the MK1, or was it the MK2. Nevertheless, the MK3 seems different. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure re Mk3, think mine is a MkII. General procedure for all single unit 200 series that I own is:

1- Remove underside two screws that secure front display section
2- slide out display section
3- remove top section screws from rear of unit that holds top section
4- slide off two clips at front that hold top section and lower section together
5- lift off top section.

You should be inside the 201 now.

Just to conclude.

The pre-amplifier capacitors were replaced, just before Christmas. The system, including the DAC and M2s (caps and op-amps replaced), sounds remarkable. Absolutely no critique.

Although I never play the system loudly, its surprising how loud musical passages can be played with virtually no distortion or colouration from the M2s.

Mostly, I play loss less audio and, sometimes, HD movies through a projector.

My nine year old dominates the system, but lucky for me, her musical tastes are similar to mine.

It may not be the latest or greatest high end system, but on my tight budget, I couldn't have done any better.

I will eventually upgrade to a DSP based system, but not yet.
