I have finally entered the 21st century and jettisoned my RPTV with only component video inputs for a flat panel display with HDMI inputs.
I pulled my HD621 out of the box and am attempting to integrate it with my video sources and my G68ADV with limited success.
I have set up the HD621 as follows:
HDMI 1 - Oppo BDP-93 HDMI 4 - DirecTV DVR HDMI 6 - Computer
HDMI Output - Display COMMS between HD621 and G68 Coaxial MCH output from HD621 to G68 MD1 input
I have setup the G68 with the audio input for the Oppo/DirecTV/Computer as MD1.
The appropriate video source is passed to the display when manually selected on the front panel of the HD621. However, I have a COMMS issue as selecting either Oppo/DirecTV/Computer from the G68 does not change inputs on the HD621..
I am getting no audio input on MD1 from any source.
Ideas?

Hi Frank,
I assume the G68 is switching its sources when you select them from the remote.
It may be a broken comms cable, do you have another to try?
Did you use Mconfig to setup the system (both G68 and HD621)? If so, and you wish to, email your .msf file and I'll check it out.

Hi,
Have you loaded the settings up to the HD621? When uploading the new configuration to the G68, you should be prompted to do the same to the HD621.

I solved the HD621 switching problem. When I set up Oppo/DirecTV/Computer the configuration program assigned them to some odd buttons. I deleted and reinstalled them and the correct buttons came up. Now I just need to get the sound straightened out.

Small progress.
I have DSP L/C/R and analog Side/Rear.
I only have sound coming from the analog Side/Rear when a source (all MD1 through HD621) is selected.
DSP L/C/R work as I am able to calibrate all seven speakers.
Ideas why no sound from DSP L/C/R?

Have you set all the setup parameters on the HD621 correctly? Don't leave any of them as "last valid".
Check that you have the outputs on the HD621 connected to the correct inputs on the G68. It's very easy to get this wrong.
Also, try MD2 as your default input. I seem to remember there were some issues with using MD1.
It has to be a configuration error on the source or HD621 as your processor is working.

Good advice. I will double-check connections and settings per your post and report back.

I think the problem may lie with the HD621.
I took the 1/2, 3/4 and 5/6 outputs from the HD621 one at a time and ran them into a Wadia 121 DAC, and all I heard from each of the outputs was hiss (even the 5/6 output from which I derive side/rears).
It seems that the 1/2 output has to be connected to get output on the 5/6 output. When the HD621 is connected to the MD1 input of the G68, I only get sound out of the side/rears; if I unplug the 1/2 output from the G68, I lose the sound from the side/rears.
Also, I do not have an option to select the MD2 input on my G68. The audio output of sources from the HD621 only has MD1, D1, D3 and D5 as options.
I am running the latest firmware on the HD621 and G68.

Hi Frank, all I heard from each of the outputs was hiss The HD621 when outputting at 88K/96K (upsampling when required) also adds MHR this is why your DAC only outputs static. I do not have an option to select the MD2 input on my G68. The audio output of sources from the HD621 only has MD1, D1, D3 and D5 as options. In Mconfig, right click the connection from HD621 to G68-MD1 and select disconnect. Then you can reconnect the HD621 to MD2 and then set your sources to use MD2. Regards, Carl

Hi Frank, Did you get the email I sent you re. your .msl file? Have you made the changes? G68 properties sources (looks ok) PC (Aux/4) Input: MD1 Sat (Disc/5) Input: MD1 DVD (VCR1/10) Input: MD1
HD621 properties sources (need updating) PC (Aux/4) Input: Last Valid Sat (Disc/5) Input: Last Valid DVD (VCR1/10) Input: H1
Can you update this to: PC (Aux/4) Input: H6 Sat (Disc/5) Input: H4 DVD (VCR1/10) Input: H1
So try this and upload to your HD621, and Ill take a closer look later today to see if I can spot anything else. Regards, Carl

The HD621 when outputting at 88K/96K (upsampling when required) also adds MHR this is why your DAC only outputs static. I de-selected 2x output. The Wadia 121 locked at 44.1kHz output so I should have heard output. In Mconfig, right click the connection from HD621 to G68-MD1 and select disconnect. Then you can reconnect the HD621 to MD2 and then set your sources to use MD2. Thanks. That worked.
