Hi all,

Can I first start off by saying how fantastic the people within this forum is. As a new Meridian-ophile, I've been amazed at the kindness and help of seller and forum members alike.

Now to the issue at hand. I've tried to install the "common installer" and keep getting the "update check failed" after the "unexpected error occurred" message. Searching through the forums, this seems to be a very typical firewall issue. However, I have done everything to stop this including even turning off all protection!

Regardless, at this point, I would love to get my hands on a copy of the legacy Meridian.exe program to test whether my USB-rs232 cable works and also to change some settings on my DSP5000c center (Thanks to Mr. Poulos for the speaker).

Thanks in advance!

S

Hi,

I definitely will. I only have the DSP5000c center right now! Everything else is pending with regards to receiving the shipments. Since this is the first audiophile system that I have owned, I prefer not to be hasty in putting my sig down yet until I get all the components to have the "complete" system.

However, for the purpose of this post, I want to setup the center channel directly right now and the 568.2 (once I receive it) using the 232 port.

Unfortunately, I cannot get the legacy Meridian.exe program from the website as I explained previously.

I will definitely put my components in my sig as soon as possible. Believe me, after hearing Mr. Poulos's system (I hope you don't mind me referring to you all the time!), - I can't wait!

Hi

Welcome to the forum. Unless you are updating the firmware on the DSP, all of the setup is done with the remote control, so the setup programme isn't required.

You may have trouble trying to get an emailed copy of the programme, as many ISPs block exe files from emails (my own included). Should be available through the Meridian website, but you need to download the common installer first, go into that once downloaded, and tick the option for the legacy config programme, which will then be downloadable.

Enjoy your new venture into the world of Meridian! Be warned though, it's a costly addiction.

Cheers

George
