Hi this is my first post on the forum.

I have added an MC200 to my G91A and notice that although I have set AUX as default, each time I mute the sound on the MC200, the G91 changes its input to TV (an analogue input). You then have to re. select AUX in order to hear the MC200 input (digital coax). I have also connected a comms cable from MC200 to G91A so I can change the volume on the G91 via the iPad.

Any suggestions to overcome this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ralph,

For the AUX (SLS) source on your G91A did you setup the comms parameters like this and make sure no other source is setup this way?

Comms Type: 4C (SLS)
Comms Address: 1

Also worth checking is how the comms is setup on the MC200.

Regards,
Carl

Hi Ralph, welcome to HH.

That's a strange behaviour. Don't recall anyone reporting anything like it before.

Wild guess....Can you confirm what Comms Type you have configured in the G91 setup and the MC200? Could be that 'Mute' does something like this if set to mis-matching or 'wrong' comms types.

In my current set-up (861v4 not yet installed) Mute is on the contrary sometimes the only control in Meridian Core Control on the iPad which will switch the whole comms system to Aux. Play doesn't for example.

It sounds like you have my situation but in reverse.

(I only haven't investigated it because it's a temporary set-up anyway.)

Thanks for the input,

I changed the comms setting on AUX source from -C/1A to 4C/1A as suggested, but no change.

MC200 settings are Sys 1, Product 1, source 4.

If the G91 is set to AUX and you first press play tracks now on MC200, it also causes G91 to change to "TV ", but if you reset G91 back to AUX, it stays on this selection, provided you don't mute the volume.

How have you connected MC200 to G91? Are you using AC12/Reviver or a home made speakerlink dongle?

FWIW, my MC200 to DSP5000's via a SpeakerLink/DIN dongle provides seamless operation as one would expect. The latest firmware to DSP5000's changed the comms settings as per Carl's post and works a treat (albeit over zealous unmute operation on play). So the 4C change should do the trick and possibly points to some other config issue especially as you see no change after what is a critically important setting.

You press play on Sooloos, if it's like DSP speaker operation, it should, if required, turn system on, select source to AUX (SLS if label has been updated), unmute and play.

I have connected the MC200 to the G91A using a speakerlink to din cable , as supplied by Audio-images. (My G91A feeds a DSP5000 center and DSP5500 mains). The audio connection is via a digital coax.
An analogue audio/video feed to the TV input from a satellite decoder is the only other connection to the G91.

Hi Ralph,
It's to do with the input mapping set in the MC200.
Source 4 is TV, which is how you're set at the moment.
Source 3 is AUX (SLS)
I've just tested my theory, it's definitely the problem.

So use Sooloos Configuration to change the Source to 3, save and reboot, and you should be up and running.

Cheers

Rick

Hi Rick,

Thanks for that, I will change the setting on MC200.

How do I change my G91 to read SLS instead of AUX, and is there a button available for the MSR+.
The addition of the MC200 has certainly enabled me to enjoy much of my music that was previously overlooked. smile

Regards
Ralph
