Dear all
Having "lurked" on the forum for some time and bought some kit advertised in the restaurant, my time has come to ask for help. I have 2 problems - one Sooloos related, one not.
I have a UK dealer, but the kit is in Italy and although they came out to install it, it turns out they were perhaps less expert in Meridian than they should have been. Anyway, after some to-ing and fro-ing, the majority of the system works. However the ID40 does not. In fact, it is missing from any list of Sooloos sources.
My dealer tells me that the core is the Ensemble. On the C10, it is shown as are the Ensemble zones. Initially, the ID40 was visible too, but no longer. I have tested the network carefully and all connections seem to be fine. The iPad app sees the same things as the C10 as does ControlMac. Meridian via my dealer suggested I repeat the configuration of the 861v6, in case something had got corrupted, but this did not fix it. My dealer has rather run out of ideas, so not sure what else to do at this stage. Has anyone any thoughts, other than that the ID40 is defective?
Many thanks in advance.
P.S. In case it may be relevant, the other problem is a configuration one via the HD621 - I can only receive audio from the optical digital output rather than MMHR, which I believe is therefore losing the multichannel processing that was the point of the HD621 in the first place.

That must be really annoying. Strange that it showed up at one stage, presumably you've spent an age checking that the cables are fully home/tried known working cables and re-booted everything in various orders?

Can you describe what steps you have already taken ?
Obvious stuff like:- Reboot the 861? Change the network cable? press and hold the left arrow key on the 861 (reboots the ID40)? Did you install the ID40 or what is pre-installed? What card slot is it in ? Have you rebooted all components ?

Hi Anthony,
Can you confirm that all the Sooloos system components are hard wired back to your router (perhaps via a switch).
You're not trying to use any wireless over Wi-Fi are you?
Cheers,
Rick

Hi Anthony,
The reliability of my 861v6 + ID40 card increased greatly with the 6.03 firmware upgrade. Also I use a Control:10 as my Core - I would suggest configuring the Control:10 as core and rebooting the core and then rebooting everything.
OOTH, the 861v6 sounds misconfigured if the HD621 doesn't send audio to the processor. The obvious gotcha for the non-initiate is that all the defined HD621 sources require Audio input to be set to "IE44:MM" instead of "last valid".
Some of the helpful Meridian Hitchhikers may be able to help and critique the config file used by the program to configure the processor. IMHO the bass management is the trickiest to get right.

Hi yes, I have indeed spent time checking cables and rebooting everything in lots of different orders!

Hi Rick
Yes, all hard wired, via a switch (and I have tried removing switch but with no success.)

Does the card show up in your DHCP table of your router? I.e does it have an IP address?

Have you reset the ID40 Card using Nick's instructions above??
If so, what does the 861 display when you did so??

Hi Nick
I have rebooted (and indeed reconfigured) the 861 and changed (and checked) network cables.
I have rebooted the ID40 with the left arrow key (although had not done so before - thank you.)
The ID40 was installed by the dealer into the slot next too comms, as shown in the manual.)
None of this has made the ID40 visible.
One thing that confuses me is that, in spite of Meridian's instance that the Ensemble is running the core, the control apps all say they are connecting to the C10 - doubt that is relevant though.

Maybe not directly, but it shows that somewhere along the line someone one of your advisers doesn't know what they're doing. If you switch everything off and then boot up again apart from the C10, what happens? And then the same with the C10 on but Ensemble off?

I am not sure if it has a DHCP address! Is there any way to identity its MAC address directly. I don't think it does - I set a fixed IP for the Ensemble and the C10 - but cannot see how to do that for the ID40. (I can remove everything else from the network, if I need to to work it out, I guess.)
When I reset the ID40 as per your earlier instructions, it said ID40 reset. The LED lights are flashing on the ethernet port too.
