I believe the firmware is 1.44 I will double check tonight when I'm home.

I checked the firmware and it's 1.44 /4380

Audio,

Have you tried removing the triggers from the config and your setup? Just try leaving your amps on with the trigger wires removed and seeing if the center channel and sub are sending a signal.

Regards,
Bill

Steve,

You didn't say whether your processor was purchased new or second hand. If it was purchased used, do you know if it had a history of PSU failing? I ask because my power supply failed in late December. Sent the unit to Meridian for replacement, and when it came back, everything worked except the analogue sub out. Drove me crazy. Finally sent the unit back to Meridian and they found out that the analogue card was bad, probably a result of the failed power supply. Just a thought, but don't have a suggestion on how to verify that at home.

Hi Rudy,

I bought it second hand. I don't know if the owner ever had any issue with the power supply or not. I will have to find out but he said the unit was working without issue. I don't know if he was using DSP speakers or not. I didn't have time to mess with it some more but I will try again tonight.

Steve.

Update:
According the the owner he never had an issue with the G68. I asked what kind of speakers he was using and he said he was using the DSP5200 which I'm assuming that the outputs are on a different board. I'm having the local Meridian dealer come on on Saturday (if he can make it he said) and take a look at it. I just have been so busy I havent had time to look at it again.

Turns out that the center channel and subwoofer output don't work. I had a Meridian dealer come out just to verify and he could not get them working either. He is going to look into how much the extended warranty Meridian is starting to offer for owners of their products.

Hi Audiophile1970

I believe the extended warranty offer requires the unit to be fully functional, any repairs required when it goes in for it's health check and psu replacement are chargeable.

Since the subwoofer output doesn't work in the sub analog out, and you can connect 2 or 3 subwoofers, can't I connect it to another output? If so what would the output be, I think that is the output (z2, z3)?

I've read on this board in the past that sometimes the cards inside the processor become loose and need to be reseated after shipping. I hope that the dealer when he came over mentioned that and suggested he take it into his "shop" to reseat the cards and attempt to recalibrate it. Perhaps this would explain why a couple of channels are not working?

I'm sending the unit back to the dealer to do a firmware update from 1.44 to 1.5. He wants to see if that fixes it. I doubt it but then again I really don't know much about new Meridian products. If that doesn't fix it he is going to send it it to get repaired. Thanks everyone for your input. I will keep you posted once I know more.

Update - The processor is going back to Meridian for repair. Living without any sort of music in the house execpt for some headphones is driving me insane. mad

Here is a thought... When your equipment goes in for service, Meridian should send you out a loaner before you send in yours just to tie you over. smile

How about a nice F80 wink ? They are great value since Meridian stopped making them (!)- take a look in the Restaurant here or on eBay.

Update:

After 2 months of being sent back to the dealer and then going to Meridian I will hopefully have my processor back by end of next week. Keeping my fingers crossed!
