Hello
Since 1 week I have my new HD621. I was waiting more than 2 month for the 3D version from my dealer. But the 3D function does not work properly. The picture has always blackouts and also the sounds stops for short time.
Does one of you have a functional HD621 for 3D pictures?
Regards, Proton

I had similar drop-outs in the audio for a few (2D) BDs with high datarate (1080/60p), probably similar what you have in a 3D setup. This was solved by replacing the short HDMI-cable from the source (Oppo) to the HD621.

Check that all your HDMI cabling is "High Speed" certified 10Gbit/s for your lengths used.
If you want a recommendation, WireWorld are of the highest calibre.

High Speed... I didn't know that's a different in the cable speed. I only know about HDMI 1.3 and 1.4.
Thank you very much! I will check it out.

You don't need to spend a lot of money on HMDI cables. I've had faultless 3D performance with my Oppo93/HD621/JVCX30 combination using 1.4 spec cables which cost less than 50. Max cable length in my case is 5m. What cable length are you using?

There are no HDMI 1.4 cables!
There is only HDMI standard cables 2.2 Gbit/s and High Speed certified cables 10 Gbit/s.
The only different wiring of the cable was the Ethernet link. Otherwise it's just cables certified for the two different speed. If it doesn't say High Speed certified it is regular 2.2 Gbit/s cable.
Sometimes you can get lucky and run with short lengths and it works but if you want to be sure; it's High-Speed certification for the specific length you want.

There are no HDMI 1.4 cables! No increase in speed - 1.4 spec being defined as carrying the ethernet connection. But the specification exists and so do the cables.

The cable to the beamer is 7m, but this is not the problem. When I connect it directly so the function is perfect. But the short cable from the source to the HD621 is an older one. I try it this evening.

New HDMI labelling With the release of the HDMI V1.4 specification, the HDMI Licensing LLC has also introduced a new system of cable labelling. There are now five HDMI cable types, each designed to meet a particular performance standard. Here is an overview of the HDMI cable types, their capabilities, and how to tell them apart.
All HDMI cable products will now be required to be labelled by cable type:
Standard Speed HDMI Standard HDMI cable: HDMI cable that is designed and tested to reliably transmit 1080i or 720p video.
Standard Speed with Ethernet HDMI Standard HDMI Cable with Ethernet: This cable type offers the same baseline performance as the Standard HDMI Cable shown above (720p or 1080i video resolution), plus an additional, dedicated data channel, known as the HDMI Ethernet Channel.
Automotive HDMI Automotive HDMI Cable: Designed for internal cabling of vehicles equipped with onboard HD video systems. Tested to a more robust performance standard, and capable of withstanding the unique stresses of the motoring environment.
High Speed HDMI High Speed HDMI Cable: The High Speed HDMI cable is designed and tested to handle video resolutions of 1080p and beyond, including 4K, 3D, and Deep Colour.
High Speed Ethernet HDMI High Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet: This cable type offers the same baseline performance as the High Speed HDMI Cable shown above, plus an additional dedicated data channel, known as the HDMI Ethernet Channel. That's it. No "HDMI 1.4 cable" and the reason is because it is five different licensed cable types.

So an HDMI cable that is marked as supporting 1080p will also do 3D, deep colour?
Or is this a new categorisation that does not apply to existing cables?

If you have an existing HDMI cable you can be certain it is not certified for High Speed (~10Gbit/s) unless it has that sticker.
Generally most cables are only validated for 2.2Gbit/s in the past. Also longer lengths like 12m, 15m or 20m can only be trusted if they are High Speed certified.
Most manufacturers certify High Speed up to a certain length. After that the HDMI bandwidth decreases which results in worst case dropouts of audio and video and in lesser cases white or black "snow".
