I was considering getting a G68XXV for my second listening room and am curious whether I can use it in a two channel DSP speaker setup by using the Zone 2 digital output. Is the Zone 2 digital output 96/24 MHR with the apodizing filter using the new firmware?
I would be using it for the two-channel component reviews I am doing to take advantage of its balanced analog outputs to various amplifiers, as well as room correction, but still be able to use it with my DSP speakers between reviews.
Thanks in advance.
P.S. I know a G68AXV would be ideal, but they are tough to find.

G68ADV's are the easiest (and cheapest except maybe G68J) to get a hold of. I apoligize if I get this wrong. I played with Zones (and tape out on 861) quite a bit, it's partly how I discovered the +3dB. But it's been a while. Zone 2, is just a direct copy of what's coming in. It's not processed. So if you a are listening to 2 Channel PCM, it will work. If MHR is coming in, MHR will go out on Zone 2. But if your listening to lossy DD, it won't work. It won't decode it and mix it down to 2 channels. You could feed another Preamp with it. It just acts as a Digital Switcher when using Zone 2. Much like the Tape Out on a 861v4. I just checked a WiKi Article I wrote and my comments above are correct. See the WARNING when using Zone 2 into D2 of DSP Speaker. WiKi - Setting up DSP Speakers for D2 in a Hometheater
- Fiddler (IMHO)

That would depend entirely on the price.
Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.
Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.

Even tho in light of the PS issues that is always some people have problems with their G68s. You don't hear problems with the 568s .

M are running a service programme for G68s that gives an extended warranty.
You can always send it on for that (for a price).

If I can grab me a G68 for cheap I might go for it. I think the major problem with G series are the PS.
