I have one disc - actually one of a 3-disc opera set - which seems to have got corrupted metadata.
As a result, when I try to select 'Show Album Details' in ControlMac, nothing happens - it does not show the details - and when I try the same from Control:10 I get a blank background and a spinning timer wheel, but nothing else.
The reason I suspect a metadata problem is that it was showing as disc 1 of 3 when it is actually disc 2 of the set, and it was when trying to edit this (and therefore the track names too) that it locked up.
The obvious thing to try is to delete and re-import (I've already deleted the other two discs in the set) but because I can't access the album details, I can't get to the delete button!
I have tried systematically powering down and re-booting the whole system (twice), with no change.
The album will actually play via ControlMac, and I can see the track listing too (although the first two tracks show no name and the whole list is in bold for some reason) - I just can't get at edit details or the delete button.
Suggetsions welcome!

Try located the offending folder in the debug screen (HTML view) and then delete the folder.
Can't think of much else to try.
e.g.
yoursooloosipaddress/Music/music2/album/4b/aa/01010c7c2xx252xx5439efc531808694bxx/

Hi Nick
Thanks for your response. I considered that and I had a quick glance at the debug screen (quite intimidating!) but didn't know how to begin identifying that file out of the thousands - it's on a full 1Tb drive.
Is there a way of searching, or revealing the titles without opening every file in turn?
Dominic

Review the debug screen. Very first table you will see "album listing".

Dominic,
Have you tried accessing the album from the Sooloos web page in Safari (Control:Web I guess it's called) rather than from ControlMac? (You can delete albums from there, if you're able to access the bad media disc.)

Thanks for the suggestion Gian - I've tried this but the result is the same as when I do it through ControlMac, which is that it won't reveal album details so there's still nothing that gives me an option to delete.

Ok, following Nick's advice I found the relevant directory and deleted it using the command detailed in the help section.
The disc still appears under album listing, but now when i click on it it says file not found - it looks like the whole directory has gone, as expected, but...
From ControlMac the track names appear as before, but try to play one and it tries to load it than immediately says played - i got an error message saying can't load media due to a networking problem.
Meanwhile from the C10 the disc appears with a solid red square in place fo a cover pic, and selecting it brings up the same blank background and spinning timer.
So, it appears that I have deleted the audio data, but not the actual listing in the database. Does anyone know how to edit this directly via debug?
Thanks to anyone who has a suggestion!
Nb, obviously I have rebooted in between.

Dominic,
I have no idea how you'd edit the database directly, and could be a risky thing to attempt.
What happens if you try and reimport the album - either via ControlMac or on your C10?
I am sure that if you use your C10, you will get the options to either import duplicate, edit metadata, replace existing or cancel the import. If the album is still in the database (it sounds like that's the case) then I would hope you'd get the option to 'replace existing' as part of the import process. Try it, and let us know how you get on.

I've now re-imported the three discs via the Control:10 and they have appeared, as normal, without affecting the corrupted one. Apparently, the system does not recognise them as being the same as the corrupted one because the size and shape of the data is not the same, so the algorithm doesn't make a match.
I am left still needing to delete the corrupted file...
Has anybody else encountered anything like this before?

At this stage you are best off just getting Meridian to connect remotely and sort it out, I suspect.
