Hello Sooloos Owners,

Because the thread about the impressions regarding the new iPad app is containing so many different topics, I decided to open a new tread which is only to document bugs and features of the new iPad Core Control App.

So let me begin:

I am using an iPad 2.

Bug iPad App
1. Focusing on 'Minimum Rating' in the menu 'Album Info' is only working with clicking on 1 star, when clicking on 2 or higher no results were shown.
2. Sorting of the album grid is wrong, it is sorting the albums in columns and not in the line like at the Control:10/15. So the albums of the same artist will not appear directly after each other, instead e.g. one is at the bottom an one at the top.
3. After playing with focusing a little bit, the focus pull down menue is getting empty and the 'Clear', 'Load' and 'Save' button change the order and are not responding anymore.
4. The app crashes quite often, but I am not able to reproduce it. The only app which is open is the Meridian Core Control App.
10. Minor Bug: When opening the album detail of an album set in horizontal format, the 'Album Pick' is not shown until you turn it 90 degres. When turning back 'Album Pick' is still shown correctly.
12. When navigating through the alphabet line in the album grid (sorted by artist), there are 1-3 columns of the letter before the choosen one shown. so when you choose e.g. 'N' there are also shown albums from Madonna first! This is wrong.


Feature iPad and iPhone App
5. I would like to choose 'Track Picks' when searching and clicking on an album on the search result list.
6. The album covers are appearing to slowly for a liquid cover browsing. Of course it depends on the WiFi quality, but even with the latest 5GHz network it is to slow. I suggest to cache 3 pages before and after the current page directly when opening an album page (e.g. after searching, focusing, taping on a letter in the alphabet).
7. Focusing on tags is an OR filter and not an AND. So if you choose e.g. the tag '24-Bit' and the result is 25 albums and then choose the tag 'B&W' you get e.g. 40 albums as a result. I think that is wrong because all other focus criteria is working as an AND filter.
11. Disc numbering is not displayed anywhere in browser view or album detail view e.g. [1 of 3]. Makes selecting from a multi CD set very difficult.


Bug Control Software
8. Wrong cover art because resized cover were not changed. I think this problem is related to the last firmware update, because all older resized cover have been changed successfully. So this is an issue of the Sooloos software and not of the app.
9. Pre installed template cover art which is showed when no cover is available is not available in the size which is needed for the album grid. I get a completely grey cover at the grid. This is also not an issue of the iPad app but related.

Good idea. I guess adding the iPad type would be helpful as well

How about numbering the points you raise. That way we can refer to them to confirm, clarify or correct.

No 7 is Not a bug, it is documented behavior.
OR within a category like tags,
AND between categories like a Tag and a Genre.

Suggest mods to copy/paste new items into the initial post at the top of the thread. That way they will stay in one place which is useful should we get to 50 pages

New entries can still be raised in the thread as usual which will give us a chance to review and comment; leaving the initial list clean and at least HH user verified.

I'll add #11 which is the lack of disc x of y info on the browser and album detail screens.

X of y is missing on first display after switching back from another app, the M app doesn't repaint correctly. But after I do anything, navigate or touch one of the albums in the set, x of y appears. For me...

Ok...there is a little ambiguity here......two type of sets.

If you create a 'set' using the 'create set' button in browser edit mode then I notice it shows an album count in the set.

I am referencing the actual meta data tags that you either get from AMG or enter manually for disc x of y.

You see these on the C-PC album edit screen and the C15 import screen(IIRC).

I'm adding a few tracks to my playlist from the explore view. However, they are NOT appearing in the queue list.

The summary line says 4 items in queue which is correct but the table is empty.

Can someone see if they have a working queue list when adding tracks?

Old app is working fine and shows the queue as it should be.

Update....after a 5 minute period of multiple crashes of the app I now have queue list displaying. Not quite sure what I would report in the bug list here apart from some weird instability.

Update 2..... There are definitely some conditions that cause a queue not to display properly. I haven't figured out what causes/triggers it or what resolves it.

Are those who are having problems with iPad crashes running a lot of apps in the background? Apple says you should just let the iOS decide when to shut down apps but I am pretty anal about closing them manually and have not had any crashes yet on my iPad2.(knocking on wood)

Hello Jack,

No I only have the Control App running and it crashes very often. For example when playing with the Focus function or lock in several album detail pages. It crashes all 3-5 Minutes! Very bad!
