Hello, I know, it is a silly question smile but would it be very difficult to paint a DSP5200 speaker? Would removing the 2 bass drivers and the tweeter be enough?

This question, because I am not able to find any DSP5200 in white for a reasonable price smile

If Reuben doesn't notice this question drop him a PM. He has done this many times with good results it seems.

You could use HQ Lacquers in the UK, they finish speakers for Meridian and are willing to re-finish.

Hi Sapiens,

As stated by MI, HQ Lacquer do a suberb job. However, you need to completely strip the speakers* and supply HQ Lacquer with the cabinets only.

* Both drivers and tweeter, back pane, wiring loom and display - you have to be very careful with the displays as these are tricky to remove and break very easily.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Reuben

Thank you, would the result be the same as Meridian provides?

Can I go to my local car painter and ask him to do this?

That's a question for your local car painter to answer.

It is a must that the cabinet be stripped down and all electronics and drivers be removed. This is not a huge effort to do so, 15 minutes per speaker. The speaker will need to be completely sanded down and primed. Rather than finding a car painter, I would suggest a furniture restoration company. They will have more knowledge on this type of treatment rather than painting sheet metal...

Just a heads up...white is not an easy color to get perfect.

Good luck!
