I'm sure this belies my ignorance of the Sooloos product lineup ....

With an 861v6 and ID40 card, do I only need to add a Media Drive 600 (I've got around 800 GB of FLAC files), or, do I have to add a Media Core 600 to the mix? I plan to (only) use the iPad app, as my hardware is all in a remote location.

You will need a Sooloos "Core"..............so an MC200 or MC600 will be required.

An Ensemble might also suffice from the 2nd hand market............or a Control:10 or 15.

Or Maybe 2 by MC200's might suffice.......and will also allow two further Digital Sooloos Zones (beyond you 861) if that was of interest.

The ID40 Card has the benefit of abstracting where the FLAC Music Files are coming from i.e. unlike other Audio Components and System Matching etc., the ID40 doesn't care where the FLAC Files come from.

So any one of the Storage Devices above will result in the same Audio Performance from your 861/ID40 Combo.
