OK. Here's a question for all you 5500HC owners out there. This speaker is big - very big in fact - so what are you putting it on? Do you all have the luxury of being able to build furniture around it or has someone found a standard equipment rack that will take the beast.

big AND heavy :-)

the front-end of my room is about 12" higher than the part of the room where you sit. i have mine on the floor and then do an axis adjustment (+2 maybe?).

it's on my list to get a small cabinet built that will house the video game equipment, though clearly that needs to be designed with major support in mind!

doody.

Graham, good question. I am also pondering how to handle a potential centre upgrade. I have a 5kc mounted on two 12mm studs which are bolted both sides of the wall. (see http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=78824 and the two photos from ncpl...no surprises there...you'll recognise the kit at least)

At 81 kgs, I am not sure this support will be anywhere near enough. Even if I went for larger diameter rods.

Any advice on 5k5c location would be appreciated

Regards

Nick

I very recently got a 5500HC and was lucky enough to have a TV big enough and capable to support it. Although I did do some numbers twice to be sure.

The thing is very large, very heavy but the rewards over the 5000C are huge, well worth the change.
