The webpage is up, an interesting design. The wide dispersion is ideal for rear and side channels. I doubt the design will be able to handle full range alone, but should certainly be good for the 80Hz that surround systems require. Base/floor ported designs are usually sensitive to placement, free space much preferred but with the DSP on board I'm sure M have that aspect covered. Not sure about that full length grill though, my cat would have a field day

SRP is 4,500 !!!!!
Plus an AC200 @ 1,500 = 6,000.
DSP5200 = 7,000.
Go figure.

Couldn't you just add a Reviver for EUR144 instead?
Robert needs to advertize his mini masterpiece a lot more heavily.
Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.
Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.

Couldn't you just add a Reviver for EUR144 instead? Of course *I* could, but the majority of the world hasn't heard of this forum. Besides, many people will not want to go with an unofficial solution. The official AC12 solution is 400, but you need to have an SPDIF processor or 562 for display purposes. This is messy and can't be doing Meridian sales any favours.

I think this would be a really great rear&side surround speaker! the round foot print and the fact that you don't have an ugly rear side of the speaker to look at is nice. However I totally agree about the speaker grill fabric. Even if my cats don't scratch it the hair will just stick to it and that would drive me mad.
Is it just me or didi they say in the data sheet that the grills are interchangeable.... That would be a nice touch as long as thy don't cost hundreds of pounds..

Does anybody know at what frequency the drive units crossover at?
I would worry about either the 'full' range driver running out of puff if the Xover is low or the 'sub' causing weird phase effects if the Xover is high.
I'm not convinced by the move to full range drivers and subs*; seems a very low-fi solution.
Steve.
*38Hz F3dB in room for a ported design isn't a sub in my book.

Does anybody know at what frequency the drive units crossover at? 200Hz "like the DSP8000". I 'figure' higher profit margins... High profit margins are fine if you are selling kit.
