Hi, I've just got a Dune Smart H1 and have some problems with decoding to Multichannel LPCM in the player.

In my G61RSL the DSP preset shows PLII Movie and as I understand from the manual this should only be available to 2 channel Movie content, so I believe that the Dune player only sending 2 channels and not 5.1 to my HD621 and G61RSL.

I also have a Oppo BDP-83 in the setup and everything decodes fine in the player and Cinema shows upp in the G61 display.

Setup

BDP-83 -> HD621 (Input H1) -> G61R
Dune -> HD621 (Input H2) -> G61R

The Dune is set to Decode to PCM and 5.1 channels, latest firmware.
The HD621 is configured accept LPCM only and 6 channels, 1.08 firmware I believe (Not at home right now so can't check).

If I change the Dune audio setup to send bitstream only I lose sound (as expected since I only have LPCM on the HD621).

Am I missing some setting or is PLII Movie the correct DSP setting?

Thanks,

Check that you have MD1/MD2 selected as input audio for the Dune Source in Mconfig. Compare with the input settings on for your Oppo in MConfig. These are the recommended HDI Dune settings for audio/video:

Instllningar Video:
Videoanslutning: Digital (HDMI)
Videolge: 1080p 23.976Hz
Aspect ratio: Auto
Auto framerate: 24/50/60 Hz

Advanced settings:
HDMI colordepth: 12 bit - When connecting via a short <1m HighSpeed HDMI cable to HD621 otherwise you set this to 8bit for longer HDMI cable distance or lesser HDMI cables.
HDMI CEC: Not Activated
Force DVI output: No
Output colorspace: Auto
Default decoder colorspace: Auto

Instllningar Ljud:
Digitalt ljud utgende lge: PCM (decode)
Audio decoding mode: 7.1
Maximum SPDIF sample rate: 96 kHz
HDMI ljud: Aktiverade
Blu-ray sound: Best quality
Dynamic range control: Off
Volume control: Off
Volume indication: Percents
DTS CD audio conversion: Disabled

PS. Sorry for the swedish parts but I think you can figure it out. DS smile

Thank you for the reply,

All the settings are as you specify and still the same, the G61RSL still displays PCM Movie2.

I tried switching the HDMI input with the Oppo and still the same. The Oppo works fine on both H1 and H2 but the Dune I only get 2 channel PCM.

Does playing DVD, BD or MKV or a 5.1ch FLAC produce the same results?

Just have a go at different media types and see if you always get the same result.

Also, do a hard power off of the Dune player so that it's not something funny regarding HDMI handshake easily remedied by a fresh startup.

DVD, BD and MKV same result, multichannel FLAC is ok.

I've tried powering off all equipment.

Atm. I can't come up with anything except trying an older firmware. But I'm running November firmware myself so I can't really see the point of that.

OK thanks for the help so far, I've contacted Dune Support so let's see what they say.

Ahh I only read the headline and saw DolbyTrueHD which ruled out the DVD(DD/DTS) not working.

I have no decoding issues on my Prime 3.0 with newest firmware. Perhaps it is only present on the Smart models.

Looks like it is a problem with the smart version, I went back to the 110225_1222_update2; and everything works as supposed.

Bummer that the newer firmware versions don't work for now.

Don't think you have to go to February.

Tried that, It's not compatible with my player so it won't let me use it, and with the 110606_1315_update1 version it's broken.

It's looks like there is two versions of the same player and I have the new version.
