It starts on the 6th but will roll out over the following 10 days.

I think last time this was on a country by country basis.

If by the 16th Feb you've not received it then please contact your Meridian Premium Partner who should be able to check you're registered with Meridian, and ask them to push to your specific system. You'll need to give them the MAC address of your core.

Thanks Rick for he information and I look forward t seeing this come through. Do you know if this release will also contain a fix for the MD600 units related to changing the RAID setting? I was told a fix for this was forthcoming so I'm wondering if it will be part of this update.

Just had a phone message from local dealer - 6th Feb IS the date.

The update will be "pushed" thru - and was advised AFTER doing the update, would need to do a complete Re-Boot of the system.

I am soooo excited!

Before people get too excited, we need to understand that there are TWO Different things here

1) The Sooloos System Update, which seems set to be delivered between February 6th and 16th next (depending on the country you are in)

2) The new Sooloos iPad App, which is independent of the above System Update......and from what I've seen, still does not have a confirmed Delivery Date

Just in case people start to hold Meridian to a February 6th Delivery Date for the Sooloos iPad App.........nothing is confirmed yet........if Rick or Gerry want to confirm an iPad App Delivery date, then that would be great

So, people need to keep their powder dry......especially if the iPad App takes a little longer than next Monday

For those who may be interested, my inquiry comes as a result of some posts on the AA forums from a user who ran into the issue when he wanted to change over from the default RAID 1 to RAID 0 on his new MD600. Meridian support has to flip the switch on their end (not a setting that the customers have access to) and when they tried to do that for this guy, they were never able to get it to work. After seeing this, I reached out to support to see if this was isolated or perhaps a larger issue and was told that they would be rolling out a change in an upcoming software upgrade. That was actually supposed to happen in early January, but since I had not seen any new firmware upgrades since then, I'm guessing/hoping it will be part of this one. For me, this is important as it's the only way I can have my storage needs met in a single unit (can't justify buying a second MD600 and have been and will be happy to continue doing my own external backups).

I thought I would post this as I wasn't sure from reading through this thread that it was evident (I certainly wasn't sure about it). The new Meridian Sooloos Core Control App is a new app and not an update to the previous app. In other words, your iPad will not tell you there is an update to install, you will have to go to the app store via iTunes to download it. I'm sure word will spread like wildfire once Apple clears it for release. Hopefully it will follow next week's software update without too much delay!

Thanks for the info Wayne. That makes sense given the universal nature of the current app. Since I hadn't seen anything mentioned about iPhone compatability with the new app, I assumed it was iPad only. As such, I have been doing a daily search in the store for Sooloos in anticipaiton of the release.

Having a whole new app does allow them to keep the existing app as a holdover for the smaller screen size. It would be nice to see optimization for the iPhone and iPod Touch of the new app (or an improvement to the current app that is appropriate for the smaller screen size), but I won't be disappointed at all if that doesn't come. With the new app on the iPad that essentially replaces the need to go to the Control:10/15 for advanced library browsing/sorting and the existing iPhone app that gives me playback controls and basic Queue management, that's all I need.
