I was thinking of changing my current front end set up of 598/568.2mm. as I'm only into 2ch not HT. I thought firstly to change 568 for a different DAC/PRE e.g DCS Delius
But now thinking of going and changing both 598/568 for a 800 configuered as a DAC and a 2ch anologue out( believe that a variable out is comeing shortly).Though not sure I can streatch to that type of cost.
Do you think that the 2ch CD playback improvement would be worth while.
Have any of you use the 800 as a stand alone CDP(ie transport/DAC and PRE) straight into a power amp.

If i look at the price list the 800 v2.5 is still sold. I think only v2.5 has variable analogue output.

Yes Jaco I to believe that the v2.5 has variable out, but I have been told that the v3.0 will be having a variavle card added to the options soon.
Though the prob of rasing the cash still remains!
Would this be a cost effective (relative speaking) way to gain a big improvement in qualtity from a 2ch mainly CD's piont of view or to look elseware for a cheaper (though not CHEAP) solution... mayby a DCS Delius DAC or a ML 360s processor.
What to do hay?!?!?
