Any recommendations on a subwoofer for a 861v6 hooked up to multiple 3100s? Does Meridian even make a DSP subwoofer?

The DSW is in production now and is supposed to ship around the end of October. The specs are still a little unclear but it does have SpeakerLink input for use with the 861v6. If you are using 3100s then the older subs (1600, 5500) with coax digital inputs may suit your needs. Perhaps any surplus may be sold off at miraculously low prices! Regards, Wayne

Do you really expect that 1600 units will be sold off for low prices? I am interested in a affordable unit.

If you happen to have an analog card in your 861 (likely not based on your other speakers), then Rythmik are in your state - I won't say close since I know how big Texas is - and although relatively cheap, their sealed subs are outstanding.

Another vote here for Rythmik in preference to any other sub for music (except infinite baffle). Transparency isn't a word that's usually used to describe bass reproduction, but in comparison with my Velo HGS-15, that's exactly how my Rythmik DS12 sounds.

Well, my 861v6 was sent with the unbalanced analogue output card since I used to use primarily analog speakers. Now I just picked up two 3100s and I'm looking for other DSP speakers for a full Meridian digital system but I have to decide how to work out the subwoofer. Thanks to Robert who sold me the revivers for helping me work to out my situation using legacy DSP speakers. The legacy DSP speakers seem to be a pretty good buy right now especially when you pair it up with a reviver in the star layout. I will have to look at the Rythmik when I get a chance but yes, Texas is huge. My Meridian dealer is in Texas and he is over 6 hours away by car. Thanks to Don Krasen for helping me get my 861v6. It's amazing how much money I have now that my ex-wife's alimony payments stopped.
