I got an email, that on Monday the new Version of the Sooloos Software is going to be rolled out.

Features:
- Support of MD600
- Support of ControlMac under MacOSX 10.7 Lion
- Further improvements for a more stable system

So I will wait eagerly until the green envelope will flash.

Regards

Would be nice to see anyone that registered an email address with M getting a message direct. I thought that's what registration was partly for.

Wrt iPad app: saw an interview with Norm Steinke, VP of sales in the U.S., that talked about the new iPad app. I asked my sales guy and got this answer:

"I just spoke to Norm. This interview was about a month ago and they thought the app would be ready for CEDIA. Unfortunately the app development has pushed out to January or beyond at this time. That's why it wasn't in the dealer CEDIA announcement with the MD600, DSW subwoofer and DSP3300."

That would make far too much sense wink They could also set up a 'Noticeboard' here and communicate with many of their most loyal followers in one easy go.

Disappointing but not surprising about the iPad app, they obviously diddlled away too many resources on the HP Touchpad project? Gone are the days when M are first to do anything it seems.

With IOS 5, iPhone 5 and iCloud all due next month, it would be nice to have M on the ball rather than playing catch-up for a change.

Hope the new iPad app is worth the wait and allows MC200/600 users the same level of control as others.

They would sell MC products by the Ton if they did offer this kind of Sooloos music experience. After all it's the Sooloos experience and brand that needs to reach a wider audience. Once new customers get a taste. They could get hooked on the brand and continue to purchase higher price point products. It's gotta happen IMHO.

I recevied an email from my dealer last weekend, so the communication chain is Meridian, Dealer, Customer.
If you are a Sooloos user and did not receive any communication I would get intouch with your dealers.

Regards,
Carl

The email contained the following as an attachment:

Dear <XXX>,
Meridian Sooloos System Update Sooloos 2.1 build 355

I am happy to advise you that the next update to the award-winning Meridian Sooloos 2.1 software is ready for release and that the update to build 355 will be pushed out to all Meridian Sooloos Digital Media Systems on Monday 26th September 2011.

This latest update includes two important new features:

Support for the new Media Drive 600 has been added so that this brand-new system storage component can be simply added to any Meridian Sooloos Digital Media System.*

Support for Control:Mac on MacOS 10.7 (Lion) enabling Mac users running this latest version of the MacOS to make full use of all of features of Control:Mac.

In addition to these new features, there have also been a number of improvements made to system stability.

This latest build of the Sooloos 2.1 software will be pushed from the Sooloos cloud during Monday 26th September 2011. All systems connected to the Sooloos cloud via an internet connection should receive this update. You will be notified that the update is available via a flashing message indicator in the top right hand corner of your Control 15, Control:10, or Control 1 interfaces, or via a message displayed through Control:PC / Control:Mac.

Once the update has been received, you can choose when to install it, so as not to disturb listening activities.
Once the update has been installed, we recommend that all Meridian Sooloos components on the network are rebooted. Please keep in mind that not all components will install the update in quite the same amount of time, so patience is always advised.

If for any reason after Monday 26th September you find you have not received the update to build 355, please let us know by emailing <your email address here> with details of your system including the serial number and MAC IDs of your Meridian Sooloos products.

If you have any questions relating to your Meridian Sooloos Digital Media System, we will be happy to hear from you.

Best regards,
<Your details here>

* Details on Media Drive 600 are available on the Meridian website www.meridian-audio.com

Hi Nick

Got home and found message on Control:PC advising of this update. So something appears to be sent out to Sooloos owners.

Opened message and followed instructions only to be advised that Control:PC needed updating!

Control:PC then shutdown and restarted.

Control:PC properties now reads 2.355 (Build 284). So not sure that much has changed although message on Control:PC has now gone.

Re-booted MC200 and PC, it does not seem to have made any difference, or did it skip the update due to Control:PC being out of date?

What should Control:PC read in terms of Build number post the update?

regards

Mark
