Are you also using a NULL modem cable after the adaptor?

Thanks

I get to the device manager on XP by right mouse clicking on My Computer, choosing "Manage" and then Device Manager.

Click on "Ports" to list all the ports, listed by name and COM port. You should see your USB adapter listed, mine shows up as :
"Keyspan USB Serial Port (COM5)" usually. I always double check COM port before using Mconfig.

install the drivers before connecting the Keyspan adapter if that is the one you are using.

"Just remember that 1/2=L/R 3/4=C/S and 5/6=RL/RR."

Well on the MD1 there is no C/S but there is C/LFE . Also ther is no RL/RR but there is SuRR so I'm hope I'm right. Looking for confirmation.

Back in Meridian Hell frown 5x DSP33s 2x D1500s.
Set up my new G61R as instructed. I configured my Sonos via D10 Digital in. NO SUB sound at all. They worked fine with my 568.2mm. Everything looks correct. Very frustrating. The wife's getting a real hoot out of this.

One question. In base management in the config program, should LFE low pass filter be set to flat or 80HZ?

Thanks

Hi Bayetta,

In Mconfig - Bass Management there are different options for how it handle the base for Music and Movies layouts.

You should confirm (from the display) what layout the G61R is using when listing to the Sonos and also what DSP pre-set it is using.
It should be MUSIC2 (ie music source - 2 channels) and typicaly Trifield.

On your 5.2 system you will have:
- MUSIC2
- MUSIC6
- MOVIE2
- MOVIE6

Then you need to check in Mconfig that the MUSIC 2ch layout is setup how you want it. A lot of people (with full range speakers) don't use sub for music only for movies; however for DSP33s you will have to use the subs.

So checkout, if you still stuck; email me your Mconfig .msl file and I'll have a look at it for you.

Regards,
Carl

Not sure if this is the problem but when I go into the Config program, under Sources and Types tab I do not see 5.2 as a choice. All are 7.1 or 7.0 choices. Why no 5.2?

I have just just purchased a G61R for a good price, but I cannot get it configured right.

I am able to use the Config programme with no trouble as I've used it before to set up my 568.2MM. It is all set up with correct sources and all connections on the graphical interface, and stored properly into the G61R and HD621. My problem is that I get no sound at all from any of the sources except for a CD player. This is mystifying as I am able to get sound from all speakers when I run the speaker calibration.

I have 5 HDMI inputs into the HD621 and use MD1 to connect to the G61R. A CD player and Streamer are connected to D7 and D11 respectively. I have no analogue connections.

I would appreciate any assistance available.
