Hello,

I hate to sound daft, but was wondering if there is a trick to get the 3200s to connect directly to the Control15. A while back when I used the 7200s this way; I just connected the SpeakerLink out to one speaker's input and daisy chained the speakers together per instructions.

Is there something obvious I am missing?

Thank you in advance!

You can do that with 3200s as well. Has something specifically led you to believe you can't?

The fact that I'm not getting any sound....

That's why I'm sort of perplexed. The green lights are on, but no music. Does this have anything to do with the settings "Meridian source" etc. etc.?

There is nothing in any of the manuals I could find that indicate what to do. They talk about a slave and master speaker (which were defined on the 7200s), but I can't see any such info on the 3200s. I did try running the output into one speaker and then the other, and vice versa, so it appears that there are only two combinations to try, of which neither work.

Have you set switches to define speakers, just a wild guess on my part.
I have no experience of the Control 15.

Figured it out.... Completely by accident!

The DSP3200s do not like the upsampled output from the Control 15. When I checked the "force output to 1x" box in the device mgr. the sound came out and all is well.

No mention of this in the manual anywhere! They worked fine with my Control:10, which didn't have this option and that explains it.

Something is wrong Tony. All current Meridian speakers should be 96/24 and MHR capable.

Yeah I agree, the fact they advertise the 3200s as being compatible in a Meridian Digital Theatre means they have to be 24/96 compatible.

Arrgh. I'm still confused then.

Will call the mothership tomorrow....

My Control 15 has been rather grumpy, so perhaps that's the problem. I'm guessing it's user error though!

Do you have another pair (different model) of DSPs to compare against?

I used the SpeakerLink output from my MC200 (upsampled) direct into DSP3200s, sweet as a nut.

Hi TonePub,

The DSP3200 DO accept Upsampled input. The issue is that the DSPs don't have a display so can't receive an IR command from say the MSR+ (Meridian System Remote) which they need to come out of stand-by and operate.

Firstly, de-select 'force output to 1x...' option. Then, when you play music from the Control 15, hit the mute button on the Control product, then un-Mute - voila, you should now have sound.

The act of muting and un-muting sends the correct type of command to the DSPs required to bring them out of stand-by.

Hope this helps,
Alan
