If you haven't indicated a "YES I coming" in this thread yet, please could you do so. It'll help organise things. I will try my best to be there (lol - ensuring I leave credit cards at home) as I'm also hoping to attend Bristol Show. Avii

Dolf The Marriott where the Show is being held is unsurprisingly booked out Try the Bristol Royal Marriott, which is only a mile away, and is a nicer hotel anyway.....also try the Radisson Blu, where most of the HH's are staying Both hotels are within 150 yards of each other.........1 mile away (5 min by taxi) from the Show......and both are about 1.5 miles away from the Sevenoaks Meridian demo and the Kings Arms pub Also, I assume you are aware of the similar event in New York in early March, that some of the US HH's seem to be attending.......might be an easier "commute" than the UK

No Darling, I've had it months!

No 18 in the Hall of fame I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best: GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone

Dolf
A few of us have arranged to stay overnight Sat at The Raddison Blu and for me I could arrange parking in advance. It's about 10 more (or about same if you take non refundable advanced option) than a couple of other main stream but I think it is in a quieter location. As for Marriot, take your ear muffs. You will be surrounded by exhibitors who think loudest is best.
Don't get your hopes up with the Sound and Vision show. Imho it is truely awful Lots of small rooms with narrow corridors and far too many people. Many of us regret ever going then vow never to go back which we do and regret it even more.
Meridian owner since 1992 Prime & PSU, Focal Elear headphones, Roon (ROCK 8Gi5 NUC), Explorer 1 & 2, F80. 200/203, various Sonos (via Roon).

I agree...the show is pants and I only ever went to see M !!! Too many woolly jumpers, beards and sandles !! Am sure it'll be worth the trip Dolf, especially if Mrs Dolf gets to enjoy the City of Bath down the road. 1.5 miles between shop and hotel means about 10 pubs. Could get messy

Too many woolly jumpers, beards and sandles !! And the smell of Ginsters Cornish Pasties!? Couldn't see them being sold anywhere so I can only presume a few people there spent their deodorant money on a cryrogenic digital cable instead?

Hi Ronnie,
You are right that Marriott is booked full. I will try the HH preferred hotel.
glzzE,
Yes but if I can spend a bit of time with any of the crew from the mothership then it is all worthwhile.

The show is aparently average. But if if you visit the minor neubulae some amazing characters emerge I had fun last year with real enthusiasts, it was invigourating and Friday is the day. The weekend overcrowded. I like chatting to vinyl nutters and guys who hand wire xformers and audition individual valves. Horn speakers and cartridge makers For M types obviously 7Oaks is a bonus Bristol is a fine city with a fab history, well worth walks around the docks/floating harbour ,Downs, Avon Suspension Bridge,Clifton,Hotwells and Temple Meads the birth of the Railway Station proper. Not to mention SS Grt Brit, The Mathew,Wine Trade and Slavery. There are proper pubs and restaraunts too.
