I can get hold of some DSP5200s, they are 2005. Does any one know if they had any changes apart from the SpeakerLink, sound, of the later version?

There is a software update available that installs apodizing. Free to install via M website. Worth the effort.

Apart from SL I seem to recall the early models have some cosmetic difference including the display module. I also seem to recall reading a post with something about a change in drivers at some point that the poster believed made a noticeable improvement. May be worth search in the other forum areas.

Meridian switched cabinet manufactures circa 2008 [others please step in here]; the display now has a bezel around it (so it is not completely flush anymore) and different drivers are fitted.

Some people reported improvements with this new setup; however I don't think it is hugely significant.

For a pair of 2005 DSP5200; check the condition and of course demo them first if at all possible.

Regards,
Carl

Anyone got a picture of the different bezels...mine have a bezel around (certainly not flush) but didn't think they were quite as recent as 2008.

Also, from post 123538 in thread last year, Rick confirmed that the tweeters should have the same black cones same as per 7200 and 8000's.

I've just posted a picture of the latest 5200 SL into the gallery. May help with any comparisons.
