I can guarantee Bob would say you are losing a lot resampling at 48Khz. You are not sampling the original Analog MIC (which is an infinite sample). You are resampling a sampling. An estamate of an estamate. Losing a lot when sampling at 48kHz on the analog sub out with the crossover set at 80Hz? I never said it was bad to sample at 48Khz on a sub channel, NEVER. I have issue when he samples ALL his channels at 48Khz and that is what he said he did/does.

1. SSP set to 80 hz. IT is performing bass management. 2. All channels go from SSP to QSC. Output of QSC go to the amps. 3. Speakers are set to small all around in the SSP. Thanks for the info. And the QSC is doing room EQ? Are there specific EQ filters the SSP could not perform using its native EQ, like MRC in the 861 (in other words, is the QSC necessary for performing the EQ)? This whole thing is ridiculous. Not really. We have just confirmed that your setup is not getting the max out of your SSP, not matter if this is a 861, ADA, Lexicon, Tact or whatever fine high-end surround processor you would use. The QSC determines the sound quality and characteristic. As George already stated many posts before, you have a QSC system with a SSP as source.

This isn't about which processor is better. Nor who is smarter. I have learned much from others on this forum and been corrected MANY times. I learned very little from avsforums because of too many cat fights and why I created this forum. I'm in 100% agreement with EvdBerg on this one. We hate seeing good hardware go to waste (no matter what brand it is). In the paste I would have closed this thread long ago. But I'm glad moderators left it open. By the way it was my fault it started off on a bad tone. And I apologize for that.

I still prefer the filet. And if we're going by price then lets talk about that Meridian...

The comment (I'm not saying fact) ken said he is running all channels through qsc and then say one ssp has more detail than another makes no sense (to me). This is senseless unless I am misunderstanding you. What you are saying is that all SSP sound the same. All the QSC doing is equalizing the bass below 80 hz essentially. Ken

Ken They pretty much will all sound the same if you run all channels through the QSC. All the nuances between them are obliterated. It's not "Just doing EQ". It's "Down Sampling" everything.

Ken No argument from me 861v6 is over priced (although there are some jaw dropping deals out that bring it to respectable levels). Oh that's right, you're one of them But this isn't about Meridian vs ADA. EvdBerg and I are both saying your harming your ADA just as much.

I still prefer the filet. Exactly. So we are agreement that is a matter of preference. That's my point. Don't take up chess, you would be lousy at it. Ken
