I recently acquired a G68ADV. I've downloaded the user manuals and have everything figured out except room correction. Apparently that is accessed via an add-on to the configuration program. Is that correct? How can I get that add-on?

MRC is an integral part of the Config program and is performed with your G68 connected to your PC and using a sound meter or mic connected to your G68. Best start by reading the Config program manual and then the Wiki (link below) http://www.meridianunplugged.com/wi...0Room%20Correction%20Tips%20and%20TricksHave fun Cliff
Main system - Sources (Kodi-HTPC, Vero 4k, FireTV, Sat) into Trinnov Altitude 32 (8-16) (+Roon), Trinnov Amplitude 8 amp & Vivid Audio (Giya G3, V1.5) and REL Stentor III speakers. Others: F80 + Raspberry Pi and other Pi systems.

It is not included in the Config program that I found on the Meridian website. If I click on "file" I can see an option for "room correction" but it is grayed out. ????

You may have installed an older version or something. I don't see room correction under the file menu. Install the common installer http://www.Meridian-audio.com/download/setup.exeThen after everything is installed run Start - > Meridian -> "Configuration Program".

Okay. Thanks George and Cliff. I have figured it out BUT....
Calibration went ok, except for the sides where there was no sound for setting the level. All other speakers are equalized at 72db. (I can't make it to 75db.)
Room Correction seems to process the first tone at 87db all right. Then it tries at 50db and fails. Then it tries at 65db and fails. There is an error message (displayed only momentarily so it's hard to read). It says that power is too low and it can't work right under 44db.
Why is this and what can I do about it? I am using a radio shack analog sound meter with a new battery. It doesn't make any difference whether I set the scale to 70 or 80; same result.

Read the rest of the Wiki Page. Lots of info their. There is a section on failing levels.
As far as no sound on sides. You have something set/up wrong in cabling or setting in speakers. ONLY ONE speaker should have red light on. And that ONE Speaker should have a MASTER cable going to it. All others should have a slave.
When your DONE and every is PERFECT and you UNDERSTAND it ALL you might look up the +3dB Tweak (it's in the WIKI and a stick thread on it).
EDIT: Just noticed you had analog surrounds. Not sure why no sound comes out but my guess is you don't have things configured correctly as to which are analog and which are DSP or your using the wrong analog outputs.
I don't think it's "trying at 50db and 65db" I think it's just reporting the level it heard and why it failed. I think it's -50dB and -65dB which is too low. Read the wiki.

There IS sound from the sides during the phase test. Just not for the level set. ???
I ran HT18 to bump them all up 3db. Everything's calibrated to 74db. Now I get 87db on the meter when I run room correction, but it STILL says the signal is too weak. New batteries. Changed the connecting cable. It's plugged in to A8r.

Are you using a Tripod/Mic boom?

Check that you've connected to correct analog input. I had problems with 861 MRC recently, but had connected cable to wrong input and of course got low reading.

I had a similar problem using the same SPL-meter. The standard setting for the microphone sensitivty is 1.0 V and when I changed it to 0.7 V it worked better. Take a look at page 33 in the Configuration program guide for details about this setting.

Still no luck with room correction.
The problem with no sound from the sides is resolved. They were not correctly hooked up. Perhaps the sound during the phase test was from the fronts??? With the sides configured as smalls the bass is shifted to the fronts.
Yes, I am using a tripod. And I am connected to A8R.
I tried .7v sensitivity and it didn't help.
Could it be that I am getting no signal at all from the meter to the G68ADV? I am using a Radio Shack cable with mini plug on one end and RCA on the other. It's new.
