Swedish speaker manufacturer Audelity has adopted Meridian's digital active approach to loudspeakers and, in addition to 96/24 SPDIF, it also provides a USB input. I wonder if that is something Meridian might consider in the future?

This is good, Meridian could do with some competition although I dont know how these compare and to what they would compare in the Meridian range.

DSP for the masses? who knows, it could happen....Chris smile

No 18 in the Hall of fame smile I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best:
GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone

There are many active digital speakers in the "pro" world and they come from reliable sources like K&H, Genelec, etc. I have to say that, in this day of multichannel and digital, it seems as if the time has come for a resurgence of this configuration.

The Swedish company DSPeaker also has a couple of models of digital active speakers with built in low-frequency room correction based on its Anti-Node 8033 technology.

The Audelity speakers are the first ones I have seen with USB input.

They also have an analogue input that is converted to digital (and back again).

Interesting. 3,800 if I got my exchange rate right for a change.

And for those who like their wallets as well as their ears to bleed:

They look pretty stunning as well.

DSP9000s anyone?

Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.

Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.

I think I'll stick with Meridian

From the release it looks like they only go down to 35Hz? I'm a bit surprised with 1000 watts of power in the low freq range?

I remember going to one of the hifi shows a few years back - can't remember whether it was Heathrow or Bristol, but Cabasse were demonstrating their Atlantique speakers. These looked like the tailfin of a Boeing 747, with a point source tweeter ball thingie. They were about 8 feet tall! My wife was captivated by the three dimensional sound of the solo violin - it certainly was amazing (and in a hotel room at a Show). Very impressed - but they were about 100,000 around ten years ago.

Since M stopped demonstrating we no longer go to hifi shows - so I'll probably never hear advanced DSP speakers again. Shame, I loved the DSP8000s - out of range of my pension sadly!

I remember hearing those Atlantiques at Heathrow - sublime and very elegant. I recall the design was inspired by the sail of a racing yacht, luckily not the spinnaker.

The most holographic imaging I ever heard was from Quad ESL63s, powered by some classic American something like a KSA100.

Maybe for my non Meridian system upstairs...
