Hi, I have a 562V surplus to requirements. I'm not sure whether it's a 562V or 562V2 - how can one tell? What's the difference? Mine has a purple on/off button on the front.
It's in very good condition - pics can be provided.
I'm not sure what cheap is on this - make me an offer by PM. (Would swap for a HD621!!!)

my 562v2 has it stamped on the front glass, and i think the cheapest ive seen a v2 go for recently is around 250 however 300 is a more realistic price

Sadly you have just missed this 562V with 517 DAC and 515 MM module on fleabay: http://cgi.eBay.co.uk/Meridian-562V..._DefaultDomain_3&hash=item35ad1f4945
Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.
Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.

Well, my 562V is not a version 2 as it does not have a DAC fitted. However - it would be cheap! Can a DAC be retro-fitted to give volume control? If it isn't sold then it might be of use to control my M60s in a separate room.......
Open to offers, though.

Look Here for a quick summary of the differences between the 562 models. Steve.

I believe that Duncans site is incorrect on the differences. Iirc that the classic way of determining differences is the number of s-video and component inputs. V(1) has 2 video inputs, v2 has 4 svideo inputs and v3 has component inputs. Firmware is largely upward compatible so is not a definitive test although it can give an indication of minimum version.

If 24/96 pass-through is available on the on the earlier models, one of those would would be fine as I my requirement is for Airport Express optical output to coaxial conversion.

The Airport Express functions only at a 44.1kHz sample rate.
iTunes sample-rate-converts other sample rates in real time before sending it to the AX.
You only need a basic 562 or something different like a M-Audio CO2.
Steve.

IIRC, you need at least a 562V.2 for 24/96 pass-through.

Thanks for the info. gentlemen.
I ought have said used with the Apple Express initially. I may wish to output some 24/96 in the future directly from a Mac'.
